The question is (for me and purists every where) is how many cars can you think that are fibreglas moncoque?

Metal cars with glass bodies are not GRP cars to me.

This of course rules out almost all the ones listed.

You've all missed the Sabre Sprint and Nimbus Coupe which are both GRP monocoque.

And the Maguire (which is a clan essentially).

But the above is mainly kit cars. We need catagories:

1) Production cars, steel chassis, GRP body.
2) Production car, GRP monocoque.
3) Kit car, steel chassis, GRP body.
4) Kit car, GRP monocoque.

Most kit cars fall in to 3), and most production cars with GRP in them fall into 1). It's 2) and 4) that are interesting (to me anyway)

The Kingfisher Sprint was a GRP monocoque, although my mates had
a few stiffening bits of marine ply from what I remember.

He put it through a hedge at high speed in a NI hillclimb, he had a
reasonable cage in it but the body held together surprisingly well.

Of course, all Mini Marcos derivatives are GRP monocoque.

When you look at how thick the GRP is where strength is needed they're pretty tough cookies. Small and light tend to bounce rather than crumple too.
