Yes I understand the advantages over the iron block, but to what end? so you can go faster at a track day? so you can go faster on the road?

This is a bad interpretation of the rules. The rules state:

Good technical excercise but IMHO a bit pointless. If you have a-series car and want something modern and ally lob modern engine in there. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |
