Bought my ERA off him, he's a top bloke and well into his mini's especially ERA's I think the car had been stood in a damp wet barn for about 8 years, might not need a re shell but will certainly need a lot of work but worth the time and effort. A 26000 mile ERA went for £12500 on Pistonheads a few weeks ago

Im with rob on this one, and for somthing overpriced in my opinion.

Rick

ps, do you no it acctually sold for that money or is it just what it was advertised for?

I don't know exactly what it sold for but it sold pretty quickly and even if it went for 25% off the asking price it's still a lot of money

Hi Keith, nice bloke I will be blushing soon...The ERA sold twice to timewasters/deposit wasters neither of whom actually ever came to see it, and had half a dozen other buyers in Q to buy it, it went to Holland to a guy who wanted it from day one but a timewaster got in first. It is to have a professional restoration and likley LHD conversion.

I know all about rusty minis *smiley* How bad can it be? Front end, inner wings, scuttle, full floor, heel board, boot floor, quarters, boot floor and a bit of work on the back panel. Easy *wink*

Would be a shame to reshell it.It doesn't look any worse than the average rotters of that age.Would be interested in seeing its progress which ever way you decide to go.

Cheers Ross.

If it was mine i would re-use the original shell with heritage panels, but it aint mine as said.
If the bloke want's it reshelled..who am i?
It might be cheaper for him in the end, even with al the body modifications for a ERA shell.

Even if it's not legal to reshell in Holland..in no way u can make it legal with the Dutch DVLA {RDW}.
We can restore everything,no matter how rot it is..but we aren't allowed to reshell..

For example..my '71 clubman is currently undergonig a full resto.
Right now the original car is a roof, pieces of the a,b,c pilar's,and half the firewall.
The rest went on holiday years ago and never came back..
Before the esto the chasisnumber is relocated in the [what's left over] firewall by the RDW.
And after body resto,it goes back to the RDW to check it's result and to give the car it's APK {MOT in UK}.

Like turbo tom..i'll take it of it's hands if he decide's to sell..;-]

So i'm not afraid of a good body resto..question is..what want's the owner to do with it?
