Apparently if a man hit a woman he would get into more trouble than if he hit another man.

But what if a woman hit a man?

So as an example, if a man was pissing a woman the fuck off and she punched/kicked him in the head what kind of outcome could she expect?

assault is assault regardless of gender, severity comes into it men do more damage usually to women than other men imo

It's down to the Police taking harder line on Domestic Violence IIRC. In theory it should work both ways.......

I know that gender shouldn't be a factor but it appears it is. Although I only partly agree with the men doing more damage to women thing, in fact most of the fights I've seen involving blokes are hilarious, none of them seem to know how to punch and just tug at clothes and stuff.

So if it were for self defence, say said bloke went to hit said women, missed and she knocked him down as a result, would that still be self defence if she was more able to injure him than he would to her?

Youd never get charged over that. All you have to say is he took a swing at me first and i moved.

I'm not guilty, not at all.

It's partly because a certain bloke has threatened me and I know I could take him if he were to start, especially once I start Kickboxing again and stop getting groin strain when I kick above 6ft

I just want to know where I'd stand if he went for me.

Assault can be physical or verbal.

Threatening clearly IS assault, and can be reported.
Even if he invades your personal space in a threatening manner, that is also assault, and you can make a pre-emptive strike to defend yourself.

Although why you would ever need to kick 6ft when the easiest and best target is some 3ft, is beyond me.

High kicks are only good for showing off. Not for use in real life.

But thinking about how you might attack him before he has made a move....isnt necessarily self defense. Just dont do it with a weapon, as they will ask why were you carrying this weapon in the first place !!

A kick to the head/upper body is much more powerful than a punch. I know if I punched the OH in the face he probably wouldn't go down but if I kicked him then he more than likely would. I suppose it's what your more comfortable doing, I know my kicks are alot stronger than my punches.

I presume you mean kicking someone in the bollocks is the best target? That's dirty tactics, I thought there was an unwritten rule that you never hit/kick a bloke in the nads? I would if I thought I was going to lose though.

Pre emptive strike. If you feel threatened, make sure your first punch is a good one.

But what if I were to break something of his, say a nose or jaw, etc. Wouldn't it become more severe? I expect there is a pre-emptive punch and then there is GBH.

As for punching someone in the throat, you can quite easily kill someone by doing that. Although I don't have an issue with poking someone in the eye

Obviously any "defence" by you needs to be proportional to the threat.

But again, as a woman things are in your favour. You never know what the persons intentions are if he was to overcome you. So a woman would get away with a slightly more vicious defence than a man might.

But yes, the throat is a very easy target and would take very little effort to kill the person lol
I just used the throat as an example of a very soft target that requires little effort to make a good impact, and is easily within most peoples reach.

Likewise the eyes....well, just pretend you're a bad shot and poked them instead.
Slap to the ear is another good one. Innocent slap, which can bust an ear drum and drop them to the ground unable to walk.

But a swift kick to the balls will drop most men and make them think twice. Failing that, take their knee out.

If you want to be a little sneakier with the groin kick. Good front kick to above the groin where the two parts of the pelvis meet, but are only held together or apart by soft cartilage. Dislodge this with a kick....he'll collapse unable to walk.

I didnt say pre-emptive punch. The strike can be anything. kick to balls, slap, punch, whatever is deemed necessary at the time to defend either yourself or others around you from someone who is being threatening.

And should you defend yourself, never second guess what action you took. At the time and under the circumstances it was the only action you could take to defend yourself. Once you start thinking maybe I......you'll get torn apart in court.

p.s. In the danish army we train Krav maga. that´s more a streetfight kinda sport.

Thanks Stevie, your post makes alot of sense. I expect if he were to try and hit me then he wouldn't care how much he hurt me so neither should I.

I knew about the ear drum bursting but not about the pelvis part, that's quite good to know although I presume very painful.

interesting article.the police are and have to take a much harder stance on dv.however men that are hit by a woman are less likey to report it due to there ego. Self defence is about protecting yourself but not hitting out shit i no.my advice would be to report it first then you have a case. Then if he does it again and then hit him you have more of a case to say why you fucked him over

He's already got a record of harassment and threatening.

only problem being is by making this topic if it is found you have made a self defence claim a lot harder! this is pre meditated evidence and would be used as that. :/

Best tactic is to have someone with you if you are to "come across him" therefore he always attacked you and you have a witness to the fact

The only time he would see me would be at a car related event so there would be plenty of people about. It wouldn't usually bother me because 9 times out of 10 a threat is just that, a threat and will never be carried out but I know what he's like, unfortunatly.
