If you give it a red undercoat you will be fine.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

Blue for extra cooling

Red for more power (or to sell at over-inflated prices on eBay.

BMC green if your car is an early gay model

Black if you want it to look lovely and prevent the need to ever clean it.

Grey if you are Will H

Combinations of the above work as undercoats or a mix. Eg purple will give cooling and power benefits, but only half the power of red or half the cooling of blue. Undercoats work better as you can do a complete coat of red and a complete coat of blue, netting you all the power and cooling rewards!

Oh and don't forget Matt black on your intercooler for 1000% more heat dissipation.

Miniwilliams exploits the benefits of colour on his 300hp monster. Check out the attention to detail, with different colour head and block. We can only assume that metallic blue has aerodynamic properties and gold aids traction.

This is all proven and tested. 100% factual.

It's a tough call, purple = 50% power and cooling, or do red and blue for max. Power and cooling, but with 100% more weight in paint??

My old engine block was green overpainted red. Then the head was green, overpainted blue, which was then overpainted red.
New engine will just be black.

All the above is true. And it's definatley a fact that grey 998s is the way to go.

Not sure about the gold, but it may work on an in-line engine rather than the transverse mini orientation.

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

I used some 2k etch primer on my gearbox casing. It was a shitty yellow/green colour, left over from the days before they banned chromates in paint.

The top coat was black.

What does this do to the performance of my gearbox ???

Also, the black is chipped in a few places exposing some of the shitty yellow/green - does this enhance its effect ???

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
