Any ideas on who could insure us?

I'm been with adrian flux for a while now, and was thinking i might be better having a change (maybe cheaper i mean!), who are you all insured with?

Try HIC. They are the only company that seem to come close to Flux's for modified stuff.

I rang around last year and got told A Flux is the only company to touch a car with a roll cage fitted. WHY I have no idea. So Flux it was for around 300 notes 3rdparty. I'm 34 with 1 years no claims and no accidents or convictions.
So I?d also be interested in other companies that insure modified cars with cages fitted.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.

HIC for me as well, they seem better organised than Adrian Flux.

100% sure.

Got a quote off both companies last year for my road car insurance, HIC were cheaper by ?25 so I decided to go with them.

Phoned back on insurance day to pay them a large sum of money, going through the quote with the bloke and he reels off all my car details to check they are correct, and they had got the model incorrect (they thought my Citroen Xsara was a VTR 1.6 8v when infact it is a VTS 2.0 16v). They requoted and the price went up loads, phoned Fluxes back and they stuck to their original price and had quoted against the correct model, so I paid them the money and so far so good they have been pretty efficient.

A good tactic is to phone them up one after the other and play prices off against each other, they are well aware that they are in a pretty closed market as they are the cheapest by far for enthusiast types with fast cars, but you might be suprised how much bargaining power there is to be had.......

yep, trackday cover means no other cars, and a full tracks worth of safety marshals and equipment are present.

Doesn't happen that often.

I've seen a worse scam with trackday cover...

They would let you go on track with other vehciles.. but your excess when up to 1500 quid... but thats not all the excess was the entine 24 hours of that day.

So one little knock out on the road and you had to pay up the 1st 1500 of ANY claim *surprised*

Stu from Corwall aka Mr Jazz Piano, Love_Machine, kneegrow

My mate has a few very interesting cars which hardly ever get used, old TVR went about 20 miles last year, etc, etc. He has this approach.

My car is an X with a non-standard Y and Z, I want you to give me an A4 piece of card which says "insurance certificate" on it and I also want to keep my car if I crash it. I plan to do less milage than your cheapest policy. Basically I want a piece of paper I can show the cops for a producer.

I've been majorly stung for some pretty mundane vehicles and fucked around the times I have needed them. It's legal piracy, get the cheapest piece of A4 card you can.

I'm with Footman James at the mo but the car keeps evolving, they don't seem to give a toss. I'm sure the policy is just a piece of card.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

salvage retention? Sounds like I could have done with that when I wrote off my piuckup...insurers (Flux, I think) refused to let me buy her back, even when I offered to chop it up once stripped!
