Well i got a call from the dentist earlier today, seems like i have to remove my wisdoms teeth's tomorrow :( I'm not looking forward to it, as i hate the dentist! And seeing as one of my tooth's not good, they have to use an small angle grinder and chop it in two, then pull out the two pieces =/

Like this. ouch.

Ive had 3 of my 4 wisdom teeth removed, they all came out easily. As long as the whole of the top of the tooth has pushed through the gum its fine, if its anything like the pic you put up then thats a general anistetic(sp) job.

one day boost will be mine!

Glad it worked out so good for you, wish mine was like that :)

My lower wisdom teeth were like the diagram.

Had to have the job done in hospital. Angle grinder though the wisdom tooth then prise the two halfs apart with a screwdriver, then chisel them out of the gum. The plonker actually managed to break the tooth next to one of them in half.

Didn't go to the dentist for nearly twenty years after that :(

Hope this does not put you off :)

I also had a sideways wisdom tooth removed, it was one of the best days of my life. The local dental hospital is also a training hospital and as my sideways wisdom tooth extraction was a bit more interesting than the run of the mill fillings I had the best part of a dozen student nurses fighting to look after me :)

I had my two lower wisdom teeth removed last month, and had it done in hospital.

I won't lie to you, I woke up with the worst pain I'd ever had. I could have happily ripped the bed in half at that point. They told me afterwards that it was probably nerve pain as it came and went in waves.

However, I think I was just unlucky, a lot of people I've spoken to have felt no pain at all, and had no pain in the proceeding days after the op.

I'v had LOADS of dental work done because my lower jaw was too small. I'v had 2 wisdom teeth removed - both were under a general anaesthetic as they we're too difficult to remove with a local. I'v also had my lower jaw surgically broken and moved forward, being pinned in place using titanium rods and pins. Dont want to put you off, but NEITHER of which were a nice experience. You'll look like a chipmunk for a week after!

I think you were unlucky, I don't remember any real pain with mine, a bit of discomfort but no real pain to speak off and I'm a total girl.

My lower wisdom teeth were also like the picture. I had one side done under local anaesthetic a few years ago. It wasn't pleasant but not so bad as some people made out. The next day I was a bit poor but the day after I was up and about all OK.

my advice is get everything done that needs done.
working in a dental lab has really opened my eyes to all the bad things that can happen with tooth rot and stuff

My sister had her wisdom teeth removed recently and she was ok with it. Bit of pain and discomfort but thats to be expected. Considering my sister is an enormous wimp and feels sick and dizzy when she takes me to a physiotherapist, thats saying something.
I'm having a molar removed soon, had a large abscess which was stupidly painful so good riddance to this tooth.

There, i'm done, i won't ever do it again. God dammit, they wouldn't give me anything else than local, but they gave me 7 shots at least. They had to chop it in two and chisel it out. I'll never do the other one, this was the first and last time lol.

Well at least it was successful :) thanks for cheering me up! :)

God, that brings back horrible memories. One of those experiences you want to forget.

I had to go back two weeks later for the second one. It was living hell.

Glad you are OK. Wait till the jabs wear off though :)
