Because my project is long term I always have a look on ebay for bargins and bid small amounts and if I dont win them I wait for another to turn up. I know most the time its quite expensive i.e just watched a pair of new non-genunie A Panels sell for £23.00 +£4.20 postage! WHY!

My two recent bargins are a pair of fully loaded doors in good condition for £6/Pair & a brand new bonnet in packaging for £11.50

Anyone else had anything good recently?

Matt

i dont think ebay is the place for bargains any more, you find more in the local free ads paper imo

£60 quid for an auto engine i bought for the crank with 44k on it ...

The oil pump had come loose so the crank was scrap*frown*

the rest of it was salvagable though, but stil a pain in the arse. From now on I'm buying cranks out the engine so I can inspect them first.

GMC227 master cylinder, brand new for £10

Genuine new radiator for my Audi, listed just as Audi radiator with no picture and only the part number in the listing. £12 posted.

eBay bargains don't exist too often anymore I've found, there are too many people using it. Look at what NOS Mk1 parts are selling for on there, it's just silly.

I have recently had a full NOS set Lockheed ball joints for about £9.50. Bargin if you ask me when new 'genuine' MG rover joints cost £18 per side and quality is questionable.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

It was much better than the one I paid £200 for. Only a little bit of play. I'd certainly use it :)

Hmm, i bought a Corneliani suit a month ago for 350£. Fits perfectly after it had a couple of small adjustments *tongue*

Oh, and a louis vuitton purse for the girlfriend, think i paid 750£ for it, that was a bargain as they cost twice as much in the store :)

Wasnt eBay but my best ever find was an alloy gas flowed 998 Speedwell head and brochure from 1965 for £20 ! Was when I was 17 from an old boy at work.

I had no idea what it was but never used it fir about 15 years.

Sold it a few years back for £300 to a guy in Ireland who drove over in an old chain driven Frazer-Nash to come pick it up so that he could use it in Historic Racing. Also sold him a 1964 Weber 28/36 and a Derrington downdraft manifold. Like Rocking Horse Poo now.

I had enquiries from as far as Canada to my ad in Practical Classics. Those were the days !

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
