Force Racing ICT Dept Manager Miglia Turbo Am frum Yokshyer tha noes!

Today i took the satsuma out for a spin ironing out a few bugs, i was on over run in 3rd doing a fair speed for about 45 sec to a minute on a steepish long hill. When i came to accellerate the car bogged down and started spluttering and running like a bag of shit. Almost stalling out, i immediately thought icing? I planted it and got on boost and kept it on boost and it all cleared up? Any suggestions to what it might have been? It had been raining but im pretty sure it wasnt an electrical issue.

I used to get problems on part throttle on boost (mainly up hill) with the float emptying - it'd display exactly those same symptoms - if I backed off the throttle and then reapplied it was fine, or on full throttle the problem didn't seem to occur.

If the engine'bogs down' that is to say it stil runs but with no guts, it is likely pig rich. If the engine hesitates missfires and backfires its likely excesively lean.

These two situations are dramatically different to each other and the first clue to the problem.

Im not sure how you see ice being the problem since on a closed throttle, thre is little airflow across the jet to evaporate the fuel to cause such icing.

My money is on the fact that you were going down hill, and the fuel has just poured out of the jet and filled the throat of the carb behind the throttle.

^ I agree with sprocket. Especially since you had the problem where the float chamber wasn't filling.

My thought was flooding, maybe a rich mixture on overrun fouled the plugs a bit?

It's dead easy.

My tip is to photo the throttle bitss before you take it apart, you know, all the springy bits.

Fine, but it's a communal shower in the morning and the soap is a slippery little begger.
