can anyone tell me what a 1990 998cc metro final drive ratio should be? I can't find a definitive answer although I think it should be a 3.44

from driving my mates id say 3.2 13.95 1/4 mile on a 2.95 fd. Carnt be that hard to beat! |

There is no definitive answer as far as I know. They were fitted with 2.9 and 3.1 as well. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

i had a metro 998 with a 3.1FD the car was a 1987 1293 Turbo mini

all standard metro engines got 3.44. The turbo got a 3.2 and a few parts bin specials towards the end of the production run and the economy models got 3.1. Vans had 3.6. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

thought the 2.7 was only in the later coopers to achieve drive-by DB levels or something?

not got the engine - there is a box for sale locally which is labelled as above - just wondering what the ratio would be to see if it is worth a bid or not |

as far as ive been led to believe all standard 998's after 88/89 had 3.44's. one day boost will be mine!
