anyone recommend an engine rebuilder or can rebuild my engine and carb etc...and clean it up with fresh lick of paint etc...

any info would help...need to impress the lass with my nice engine!!!!lol

Or why not save yourself a bit of cash, get the mechanics rebuilt if you are not to confident, and then do the elbow grease jobs yourself? Much more satisfying when its in to know that "I did that".

Plenty of places that will rebuild it for you, take your engine and 2k to Morspeed or similar and I'm sure it will come back all nice and spanky.

Oh and turn the Caps Lock off, you'll find it

yeah may be a 2k engine ive bought but ive still got loads of bits to fit and buy! It doesnt stop there!!

Plus its hardly a "cruising motor"....

just stick with a std rebuild if thats what you want to do to it?

293-1310cc TURBO BOOSTER ENGINE

The block is chemically cleaned, Drilled and tapped for 11-stud fixing and Machined for a steel center main Strap, Bored and honed to a finish size of +020 or +040, Re-surfaced to ensure a perfect head gasket seal, Then fitted with new cam bearings. All threads are checked and re-tapped then after a final clean the block is painted and fitted with new oilways & core plugs.

Crankshaft is re-ground, Balanced, Hardened, and supplied with new VP2 bearings.

Con-rods are checked for size, Complete with new ARP bolts and nuts, Balanced, Then a set of Omega 10cc LOW compression pistons are fitted.

A performance MSPD T2 camshaft, followers, High flow TURBO oil pump and Steel duplex timing gears complete the engine and it is then assembled including a timing cover and damper.

The gearbox is one of our fully re-built units which is fitted to the engine along with new idler shims and primary shims. *Lightened flywheel and back plate is used with a performance plate and Up-rated cover, Then balanced.

Cylinder head is one of our turbo booster units, Then supplied with a 1.5 Roller tip rocker assembly, And Fitted with a new gasket, including all tappet adjustments set.

Fully assembled 1293 -1310cc Turbo booster engine £2100.00 exch

Buy one of those then. Its not just special engines that iain found that are for sale.

cheers tom..been looking into the package ready built engines...that spec means nothing to me...all i care about is the 0-60 time the bhp at the wheels and that the thing stays together for at least a few month of cruising and racing abit...
