Need to get some pads for these calipers, but have no idea what car they are from.

Would be grateful for any help/suggestions

they look like mk1 fiesta ones to me, but those look like they have 2 brake lines going to them whereas mine only have 1.

I should've said they are rear calipers. There's one brake line and 1 handbrake cable.

I've seen something very simular on the rear of fiat croma turbo, I'm sure if you take the pads in to your motor dealer they should be able to work it out

Looks like german calibers to me, VW perhaps. Clean them and you should find some numbers on them. I have a pdf file somewhere that has pad shape/dimensions for most vehicles.

Did they fit on the hubs without any modifications ?

Looks like rubbish though.
You can say what you want about BMC/Rover quality, and the Mini, but they never put horrible sliding calipers on the Mini, something we should be very glad for.

On the back is OK.. They are wobbly, stick, give uneven brake pad wear and a dire to maintain... Cheap to manufacture is the only asset they've got.

F**K the calipers, I want to see what contraption you have a front subframe at the rear of (or parking brakes at the front???)

Forgotten more than most ever know

I checked the EBC pad catalogue and for VAG / Peugeot /Seat/Skoda the pad size is 87x53 mm with two thicknesses 15 vs. 17 mm.

On VW these calibers sit behind the axle centreline and the hand brake cable runs towards the front of the car. Looks like your setup has the cable just the opposite, cable outer core sits agaist the lever and the cable is locked behind the cast eye on the caliber. I have these calibers fitted on my Moggy rear axle. I also have a spare set stored away, can take a pic of caliber and pad if you want.

Thanks for the replies.

Looked at my Mk 2 golf and they appear similar but the hose enters the calliper in a different point.

Jukka - yes please a pic would be useful. I'll look for a number (I should've done that before - dur!) and whip a pad out.

I had a look at my spare calibers and they have the hose in a different position. These calibers cam from 1988 or 1989 Audi 80. There are VW/Audi logos cast on the calibers.

However, the ones I have in my Moggy have the hose in the same position as you have. These came from early 90´s Seat. I have a look at wife´s Passat tomorrow morning (visit to MoT) how they look like.

Neil take the pads out and compare them to the ones you are just about to do on the back of your road car. They will be the same. VAG are parts bin build experts, use the same components on loads of different stuff.
Girling also supplied those calipers to Peugeot for the 405's, as opposed to the shite Bendix things all the rest of the Peugeot range used.
