if you don't tell them you have a turbo engine in there, you may as well have no insurance at all

you're only looking at about a 10% discount if that for being a member of a club, try the british mini club about £15 a year.

other than that insure the mini on a limited mileage classic policy and it'll be cheaper. but with you being 18 they'll still bend you over and do you dry!

I paid £2950 per year when I was 21, I had no points, and some no claims, car was garaged, under 6k miles a year, with trakcer fitted, although that wasn't on a mini, I still paid it

Tried that
HIC: £2000, all in one payment (special policy) with NO refunds.
AF: £2700, wouldn't do agreed value.
Brentacre: £1998 (just to beat HIC) - same deal really.

no one else would even insure me!

Well not being funny you have two choices, pay through the nose, or otherwise do what everyone else did when they were 18 and drive about in something that is a low insurance group..........

yup, i had a quality mk2 astra. 1.2 overhead valve, man that was speedy...lol

but it did me for the first 2 years. i think i put about 50k miles on it, it lugged me and my mates all round the country and only ever broke properly once.
