Uploaded some pics of my new car, VERY happy with it.

In the end i was looking at quite a few cars that i would sacrifice the mini for, the MR2 ended up being ?1800 insurance, then supprisingly i got a quote on a 2litre turbo 16v gsi just for the laugh. and omg, the insurance was only ?1050!!! VERY HAPPY!

Here she is...



Nearly everything on it is new, brand new head, reconditioned 6 speed gearbox. Its all 100% reliable and im happy with the performance, although it doesnt seem as amazingly quick as the mini.

When ive paid off the insurance my next mission is to find a suitable shell and lockup and then turbo pot_dan's 998 low compression engine over the summer

Hi, the golf was rusty :( spent about 2 hours deciding and looking arround it, but the mk1 golf was £2800 and was rusty as hell underneath and behind the plastic arches (where you lot told me to look).

I paid alot for this astra i think (£2900) but considering hes spent over £5500 and got reciepts for it, i thought i would pay a bit more and get a reliable one that i trust, + i know people that knew the seller and they gave me a second opinion on how he drives it and it shows, its a beautifull car and also has 12months MOT and cat 1 alarm etc. Not going to do much to it other than hook up the heated seats Already put in the ipod alpine headunit.

Btw i think the 6 speed gearbox is from teh calibras?

six speed box only available on the timmy turbos!!!ie cav turbo and calibra turbo!

its a bonus that its been put on a redtop i suppose coz you got an extra gear and my mate says you sometimes could do with one!

if all goes well il have a 2litre turbo nova sept as ive just got a mint standard gsi nova!(king nova is back!)lol

very nice! my mate shaun has just got an astra turbo and the thing fucking gives it some!
and another mate of mine is in the process of getting a 2.016v nova too, if he can bare to part with his escort RST tho ..... his main car is an almera GTi, i fucking love that thing so much!
anyways, i really like the old Astra turbos, and the 6 speed box is like a wonderful added bonus, well done you!

iain i have been in that astra turbo that was at york chasing an M3 on **ahem** private land at 160 and he backed off cos he thought it was a cop car lololol VERRY quick car!
lol love the astra jimmy like you know but i will still miss your mini.

wow! is this astra quicker than an m3? what year was the m3? was it towing a caravan at the time?

the astra that was at york (mk5) was keeping with the M3 to end you sound abit sarcastic jimster cant make out what your implying tho

I raced an M3 at York a few years ago - beat it both times! It was the E36 shape - sorry, don't know much more!

nice motor!!!!!...... wouldnt worry about the amout you paid for it.... the standard gsi's with red tops in good nick seem to go (or at least be advertised for) for the same as you paid(!)... and you got a turbo one!!!! nice..... what sort of horses is it? any idea?

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

dave, I'm not supprised you did dave, but your in a 13 sec 1/4 mile mini, feebs has allready said that the astra is not as quick as the mini. I just find it hard to work out that it's quicker than the m3, but I've been wrong before.

Jim, its a different car to the one feebs bought that beat the M3, it was a mk5 astra turbo that had been tweaked

oh right, now I understand, sorry call me thick! I thought feebles NA astra was quikcer than the m3, turbo astra I can understand

is it a redtop engine thats been converted to turbo or a proper LETengine? hard to tell from pic...the airfilter in the right position like.....

my nova getting the LET engine in but might put the red top in 1st so i can get used to driving it without turbo then swap over later...

redtops are good for 150mph!!!! my mates nova does this with a full car! and he aint had much done to engine..

jim, feebles new astra is a turbo..... hence the 6 speed box! if you look closely, you can just see the actuator arm
