Im looking into getting a Camera for filming some track footage, just a question really of what people are using?

Ive looked into the Go Pro HD range and there about £250 with the mounts which is quite a lot really. At the other end of the scale ive seen Bullet cameras for £20.

Anyone got any advice of what to look for, or what to look into.

I've got a bullet camera, didn't cost £20. Good enough for what I need.

Warwick.

If your on about getting a top notch camera, cant recoment dog-cam enough.
Use them on the cars at work and seem very good. When one broke, they sent out a new unit before we had even sent back the old one

I just taped my ordinary camera to the rollcage, good sound, good quality video - though not a particulary aesthetic solution bloody effective. I can't stand videos with poor quality sound!

I bought a cheapy "HD" in car cam off egay. Really cant complain about it at all.
Quality is decent and it comes with it's own sucker mount which has been on the windscreen of my van now for a couple of months and hasnt budged.

Takes a micro SD card, the 32gig card I bought off Amazon cost around £25 and will hold 9.5 hours.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

For track i use a hd cam corder secured to the roof, amazing quality (1080) and the sound was pucker as well also has built in anti shake. Cant remember who its by but cost 135 pounds, a little expencive but has a flash and you can take still pictures too.

if it's the same as mine. I had to create a notepad file called "time"
Save this onto the SD card, and in the noteapad itself just type the time in the exact format you see on the screen.
In your case that would be

19/01/12 21:44:00

Save the file on the SD card. Insert into the camera and when it boots up, it will fix the time you whatever you saved.

Another recommendation for the GoPro (I know you've already bought one but I thought I'd throw another testimony to the pile).
A lot of the guys I skydive with use GoPros mounted to a standard helmet instead of forking out for a full Sony HD Cam and proper camera helmet (which has dangers in itself but I won't go into that).
As footage goes, they're really good; especially when you see their price. They really stand up to the elements, 130mph winds, cold, clouds, maybe a spot of rain and the odd kick in the face. They're pretty tip top really.
