Just wondered if any of you know astras at all, ill get photos soon, but i need to change my front engine mount. Its the one at the bottom on the side of the front left headlight.

Thats all ive found wrong with it so far and wondered if its worth having a go at swappping the mount myself, theres loads of room to work in it seems.

Feebs - Seriously now, If you had a problem with your washing machine, would you call a brickie? Similar thing to Jon's point... There are many Vaux forums full of peeps who'll definately know the answer...

Migweb is the place for the Vauxhall questions!

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

feebs invest in a gallon of unleaded and a box of swanvestas!

these will sort your problem if correctley used on the astra for sure!

this is killing me, i do really like this forum but everyone told feeble to get an everyday car and i cant think of much better than an astra it starts every day and gets him to work with no trouble every day (all be it a little faster than the diesel the wanted) altho you did not want him to sell his mini he thought it was best (and under the shiny paint even i could see it was about time to let go and i loved that car more than him himself i think! he is having my old 1040cc engine and going to work that to turbo specs and build another shell up, thats the plans atm, but this will porbably change if the whole comunity goes all sour becouse he has bought an astra. it seems like advice given on here is more like a telling and if you dont go by it then we will fallout with you.
sorry it doesent mean to sound like a rant but i supose it is, in a LIGHT minded way.

To be fair, we're only playing, and he's asking for astra advice on the wrong forum. we do Turbo Minis, not Turbo Vauxhall's.
I own two cars which aren't minis, but you dont see me getting mocked for it, because I dont ask for advice on here!

I will do at some point Rich... been working about 12 hours a day this week :(

Most of the piss take of feebs is about where he is asking the question, and only taking the micky coz this is a mini forumn.

Blinkers are what minis are all about! They arn't fast, they don't handle well... not as std and not even that well compaired to modern stuff like evos... BUT

and its a BIG BUT... they are cool, they are FUN and they are def cheap *happy**happy*

alex i agree with that, but really theres no porblem, its how it was put across, jon has joined with an N/A 998 mini with no intention of turbocharging for a few years, thats fair enough we still give advice on how to make his mini go faster.
jim comes who is a verry regular poster and asks for advice on his TURBO astra *tongue**tongue*
there was quite a high chance of someone knowing the answer aswell, such as rich, becouse lots of people on here play with other cars than just minis, i know tom is into pugs as well.
oh well*tongue*

Not just Pugs, I could tell you how to change that Astra engine mount off the top of my head. My mate has had three Astra GTE's and a GSi, so you could say I am fairly au fait with how they bolt together. Another mate had a Group N Nova rally car, and another guy I used to spanner for had a Corsa 2L 16v wide track stage rally car.

The reason I didn't tell you how is that if you actually bother to go and look at the offending item, you would very quickly see that it is obvious how it fits, where the bolts are, and how to change it.

The point is that if people can't be bothered to actually go and look at a job before asking for help, I can't be bothered to tell you how to do it.

It really is a very simple and easy job.

All that aside, each to their own as I have said before. If Feebs is happy with his car then bugger what we think.

Alex F summed it up a treat a few posts above, Mini owners ARE very narrow minded, and think their cars are the best thing going. It is true of any group of enthusiasts, what reception to you think you would get on a Peugeot or Audi forum for example if you asked how to change an Astra engine mount? Plus the fact that we all "know" (and I use inverted commas intentionally) each other somewhat on this forum, so there is plenty of piss taking and leg pulling going on. If I told you to curl a turd out and then eat it with a spoon would you? I think not, so don't take the ribbing too seriously.
