In your garage / workshop do any of you have a heater installed? If so what kind? Ive got a oil filled electric heater in there now but its pritty rubbish and gobbles up leccy.
Ive been looking at a small gas / elec space heater but not sure aboout the emissions given off or just go for a cabinate gas heater.

Got a gas one at work, works alright, does put out a bit of fumes but you can still work in there with the door closed.
We used to have a diesel heater, but it really did kick out nasty fumes, so even if you had the heater on you had to have the door open, which is a bit of a waste

Just work a bit harder...

I have an anti-frost heater from the greenhouse and an infared patio heater. Plus thermals and a hat, job done.

I wack the radiator in the utility room on full. Then when I open the door into the garage all the warm air wafts in. Bootiful.

Not much use I know, as for this you will need to build a utility room and install central heating!

I have an oil filled radiator, Unless you're stood right over the top of it, its useless.
So in the winter months I can't really get anything done in the garage, as most of the time I'm standing around doing bits and pieces in there. I can deal with working on my car outside though because I generally warm up after a while If I have an involving job to do.

I believe Calor gas style heaters lead to chrome parts rusting.

I have a big thick toasty warm high viz jacket. I look a twat, but it's nice and warm. Also have a little electric heater to leave in my work area for a little radiant heat.

Its not just chrome parts, guy over the road does bare metal work on body shells, cant use those type of heaters due to condensasion, would just rust the shell up before it goes to paint

I have an electric panel heater which isnt fabulous but it really takes the edge off. I usually turn it off after about 20-30 minutes or I get too hot. If Im standing at the bench making stuff or working on one part of the car for more than a minute or two I stand on a bit of old carpet which makes more difference than you would realise

I seriously doubt it!

Hey im not a big girl! Just need some bloody heat. hahaha.
My new garage is 20'x12' concrete sectional and its feckin freezing in there. I havnt insualted it properly yet but i was thinking of getting a space heater from machine mart. I wont be too worried about condensation in there as ive got a dehumidifier in there aswell.

I've a couple of electric bar heaters in a garage full of Mini and GTM. Was 1 degrees in there yesterday. My heaters can't cope with that. They are alright for standing in front of , beer can in hand gazing at the cars and that's about it till it warms up in a few weeks.

Nice thing about the propane space heater is you can fire it up for 2 mins- then shut it off. It really does take the edge off that fast.

Cheap to run too as you really don't need to have it on all the time, in fact, int about 10 mins, you'll find your garage is >30 degrees.

Only down side is having to go and get a propane cylinder, you don't want a patio gas one. Def go for propane
