Chap, Ive looked on the internet for some double sided rivets, as in rivets that have 2 flat sided faces. All I can find is the production of jeans lol

Welding is an option but seems a little over kill for what its for. Wils got what I had in mind.

What size are you after I have a couple hundred rivets at home. Normally you need a rivet gun and appropriate snap and riveting block. You will need the softest rivet you can buy.

Mike, get countersunk solid rivets. Countersink both pieces of metal and peen over the rivet into the countersink.
I seriously doubt it! |

I use a punch to get a dome but you want it flat so just a hammer I seriously doubt it! |

I had a go at solid rivets when i was back in college making tools. It was steel ones, i don't remember it being too difficult. |
