Hypothetically speaking, where would you stick your nozzle?

Would a tapping into the intercooler end tank (the end which is fed by the turbo) be a good option?

In the inlet. Any further away and you'd risk pooling I would have thought?

what does the nozzle look like?

I'm thinking in th back of the plenum pointing down the carb.

Hmm, I thought that it was common to place it into the intercooler.

Would pooling be an issue? I'd not trigger it until boost reaches 20psi +. I was hoping that the speed that the air will be moving once this boost pressure is reached should prevent it.

I'm not collecting it until later, so won't know until then.

I'll be a pic up once I have it in front of me.

on the outlet of the inter cooler is a common place for it as it gives time to atomise, what tom says is valid but in theory it will only be spraying at high air flow
imo straight into the carb would be good aswell

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

TBH peple stick it everywhere... and theres merits to each..

if you stick it pre turbo you can actually make the turbo more efficient especially on somthing small, if you stick it just after the tuorbo your injecting at the hottest point so you stand the best chance of scrubbing off heat. if you stick it in the inlet you wont get puddling ect.

have a play with the WI part of the the motorgeek calculator?

Mine is going straight in the back of the charger, but I'm doing gay suck through.

Can put a picture up of my nozzle if you like.

I always favoured two nozzles, one in each inlet, aimed at the valve.

There are all sorts of reasons to move the point of injection around depending on how you intend to tune the engine to take advantage of it (before or after IAT etc). General wisdom is inject into inlet manifold after TB/Carb and adjust your tuning to suit rather that just use the water to cool what the IAT reads and let it do it.

https://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/conten...njection-nozzle

read that.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Spoken to (a very helpful) ERL.

The chap I spoke to said it would be best after the intercooler and before the plenum.

This gives the water time to atomise apparently.

Would you get better heat transfer by injecting it before the intercooler?- the hottest air, and by having a higher moisture content it could shed more in the intercooler?

Perhaps not, but thinking aloud...

Surely the water will collect in the intercooler if you inject it before ?

Yeah I thought about that, but the heat and velocity may stop it- it was just a scientific thought anyway!
