Has anyone else that has their seat bolted to the floor, or at least mounted very low noticed that the wiper becomes completely useless?
I have been thinking of ways around it and they are..

Shorten the wiper arm
Make the blade longer at the bottom
Left hand drive wipers

i am thinking left had drive wipers would be a good option but does anyone know of any implications there may be that i might be missing? is the motor still on the near side? (if you are still in the uk *tongue*)

has anyone else even notice this problem?

Use a Mk1 wiper mechanism, they were all parked on the right hand side. :)

You're quite a sexy bastard Dan. The second picture is more telling, there is a lot of 'recline' on the seats.

If that's how you want to sit then I'd go with the option of LHD wipers. Not sure how to do it mind. although swizing the motor onto the other end of the bulkhead and extending the wires seems a possibility? (not thought to much about it)

One of our euro members can probably confirm, but I thought the LHD wipers are much the same in position of the motor as RHD, the only difference is the length of the fixed tubes to move the wheelboxes, and the stop switch in a different position?

The LHD wiper motor is mounted in the other side of the bulkhead. No, I don't mean the inside.
The park on the different side.

On my racecar the seat is 1" above the floor. I don't find this a problem (RHD)

LHD wipers are the same as Mk1 or Elf/Hornet wipers.
They are the same setup, with the motor in the same place, but protrude through a different set of holes in the scuttle (the original ones) and different length wiper tubes.
Obviously the Mk1 wipers don't self park, but the wiper motors should be interchangeable.

I think I have a set kicking around somewhere.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

why dont you sit in the passenger seat when its raining and see where the wipers clear the screen before you go messing about with mk1 wipers

No they're not at all. All Mk1/2s are the same LHD or RHD. MK3 cars are mirrored LHD/RHD

Mk1's all park on the right hand side, and they are available with a park switch. The easiest thing to do is just fit a mk1 mechanism to a later motor, no need to go hunting round for a LHD mechanism then (although its more than likely exactly the same part). *oh well*

Wow lots of replies, I have been busy this week, mostly driving in the rain :@
I am Strugling to work out what the answer is with LHD wipers as to me it all sounds believable but there seems to be some confusion as to how and when they swapped etc?

Btw, there's pics in sister section Allready, my misus wanted to share her sister - haha

You can fit a mk1/2 mechanism to a later motor with a small modification to the motor end of the mechanism. Both of which all parked on the drivers side. The mk3 onwards switched to the later motor and mechanism and the park position changed depending on being left or right hand drive.

You could buy a complete mk1 or 2 wiper motor and mechanism, but you'll have to mess about with the motor mount as its different to a mk3/4.
