They were cheaper when they came from AKM because he just sold a blank casting and there was a lot of work to be done to make it work on your particular application. Minisport are selling a complete head, supposedly made for your application. It looks like they have done more development on the head that has been done before so I think that the price reflrcts that. I am not a huge fan of minisport, but this looks like a good product.

I agree that they are a bargain (although not cheap), however Ben, you are wrong about the price.

has anyone actually read about the heads ? seems people think its a bolt on part, minisport say that was tested with great success by vizard but if you read the article he says the ports are to big, and that it really only worked well on bigg cc engines with scatter cam and good atomization of fuel, also no one says that you are still looking at 3k after buying the throttle bodies ect ect

Nissan Sunny GTI-R uses throttle bodies as standard.

well, you will at least be able to do a fully EFI turbo with that head, no charge stealing etc

A turbo enging is comparable to a big cc engine though, so the large ports become less of an issue.

I would buy a 7 port head as it would allow you to install injection and make it work PROPERLY.

My 8 port with a 296 cam was really nice to drive (until I fiddled with the final drive). Smooth idle and strong pull from low down and a fair bit of top end with that cam. I would expect the 7 port would be able to give similar characteristics, with the advantage of not having to spend £250 on an exhaust manifold.

Being able to easilly run efi - and get rid of the restictor in the carburettor mouth, and the last little piece of charge stealling that still occurs with an SU will net a power gain I reckon. £1500 + worth though, I'm not sure!!!! On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:
