y i'd loctite the bolt in, i was playing with the wheel this eve and found out that the outer ring, the one thats got the cut out in it is actually on a thread, just bloody stiff, so using a C spanner u can tighten it and clamp the wheel in position - sorted.

i asume thats so you can make it lign up with TDC ? as every setup would be different. TBO its worth the money paid, think how long it'd take to fabricate somethign as "trick" turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

y its for adjustment, with the megasquirt u need to have the missing tooth 90 degrees before the crank sensor at tdc.

With the Emerald ECU, you can have the missing tooth anyway, and just set a reference point in the software, can you not do this with the Megasquirt software On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

is modifying the original damper really work, after all its rubber damped y? so the toothed section could move separate from the other? or at least you'd get some spark jump?

I'm currently running this setup with a Lumenition ECU and on the rollers haven’t noticed any spark scatter plus under acceleration it would retard the timing a nats ass if anything.

I have fitted ford siera timing wheels to 3 mini pullies now and all have worked fine. I think the amount the damper moves is insignificant.
