Hi lads, regrettably, times have changed and I think its time to move on, so my car is up for sale. Now I'm not sure to try to sell as a whole, or split the engine, interior etc and sell as a rolling shell. I would need 4k for the car, otherwise I will have to split, and as you all know, 4k is very cheap for what I have spent.

Bit of history, I have had the car 2years, and done probably 500miles, lol, its a 1992 rover mini British open classic, very solid, has a few patches in the floor, but the rest is spot on, doors, boot floor, both subframes, etc etc very good, mot is about 10months, tax about 4month, bad bits, paintwork is tatty, bit chipped, webasto roof doesn't work, has no motor or wiring for it.has oversills fitted.

I put together a list on my phone, but soon as I copy it onto here it all goes fucked up, but here goes

ENGINE SPEC:

1310cc, 8.42:1cr

MED offset FIS head 35.7x32mm

11 stud, ARP head studs & nuts

Dry decked

Omega cast +40 pistons

Balanced conrods

ARP rod bolts

cam6581 crank

RTS clutch

Minispares lightened flywheel

MED trigger wheel and damper

'Nic' plenum chamber

Bailey dump valve

Clubman straight cut gearbox

4 pin diff.

Garrett GT2056 turbo, ported manifold

Ported wastegate

2.25" downpipe and exhaust system

Custom front mounted alloy intercooler

Alloy 2 core radiator

Megajolt

ENGINE STYLING:

Fuel pressure gauge

DSN classics billet thermostat housing

DSN classics billet adjustable engine steady

DSN classics billet heater blanking plate

DSN classics billet distributor blanking plug

INTERIOR:

Cobra Monaco bucket seats

OMP 4 point 3" harnesses

OMP steering wheel

NRG quick release wheel boss.

Jon Betts steering drop bracket

Jon Betts extended seat brackets

AEM air/fuel ratio gauge

Racetech oil pressure gauge

Racetech oil temperature gauge

Racetech water temperature gauge

Racetech boost gauge

Cut out inner door skins

Cut rear seat overhang and 1 door bin

EXTERIOR:

Fibreglass bonnet

Fibreglass boot

Genuine sportstack arches

6x12 revos, Yokohama A539 tyres

Polycarb windows (not yet fitted)

Suspension

Minispares adjustable bottom arms,

Minispares adjustable tie bars

Solid subframe mounts

Lowered on hi lo's

Basically, the engine is in bits, head, turbo, timing cover, rad is all off, so basically, before I go and spend x amount of hours putting it back together, would anybody be remotely interested in buying the full car at 4k?
There's no pics yet, but can get some for serious buyers, viewing welcome.

Cheers

Sorry, it started out as a "do you think its worth it" thread, and sort of evolved into a for sale thread, mods feel free to move it if necessary.

I'm afraid so mate, think I may start breaking it now, I don't want to spend £300 getting my turbo rebuilt, so many hours putting it back together, just to find out it needs to be broke.

No don't do it. Not after all the time, effort and money. You will seriously regret it, get it done, enjoy it and then sell it if you must. We have all been there.

How bad is the turbo ? Cant you just get a kit off e-gay and rebuild it yourself ? I did this with mine, royally abused it since then and its still alive and working well.

I'm not letting him have any more projects *tongue*

Matt, its not a that I'm fed up with them, just a personal choice to try something new, I may well regret it, and may be back in the future, but for a long time my passion has always been jap rwd, now that I'm at an age to insure one, and keep up with maintenance, I'm going for it. It has been a hard decision, which I've been thinking about for a while now and decided to go for it, only live once.

i've done the jap RWD turbo thing, but kept the mini in the garage. it'll take a lot to make one feel as quick as a mini running 15psi on the roads, but i still enjoyed every minute of my S14a!

You're a fool if you sell it, you've not even driven it properly yet. Get it fixed, drive it then if you're not happy sell it then.
I've had mine for 15 years now & in that time I've been pissed off with it loads of times & thought about selling it, but everytime I drive it I remember why I haven't.

benny, i say keep the mini and enjoy a few more miles,

i massively miss my clubman that i sold 2 years ago, yeah ive still got my mk1 project and i love it, but i cant enjoy it properly until its finished,

ive had my 106 and now ive got a mk1 mx5 as i also fancied dabbling in the jap rwd scene, but id honestly say it get boring rather quickly, although thats not to say i dont love it, but id swap it in an instant to have my clubby back.... much much much more fun

I loved my RX7 but never got rid of the mini, I miss my RX7 but not nearly as much as thrashing a mini around. Plus the running and service costs alone were just silly. I'm running a scooby as my daily driver at the mo but will be looking to change that for something more sensible in a year or 2... will never sell the mini tho. it's worth more to me than anyone else

I know where your all coming from, I am gutted to be selling up, but I just need to go look at an s13 build and I remember why.

I possibly will be back in the future, I really fancy doing a pick up, if I can get my hands on one, but who can blame me for trying something different?

Steve, yes I know bud, but you also said in the last 12months you did 4miles, I wish I could do the same mate, but I don't have the room or cash to have a third project.
