I totally forgot that my subframe has an extra bracket added to bolt it to the bullhead beneath the box!

So, in addition to removing the usual subframe mounts, I now need to remove the inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo etc...

Got my MS alu 4 pots on and they touch the tie rods (adjustable, so chunky at that end) on full lock. The car is still up in the air. Will it be OK when I drop it back down, or will I need to fit rack limiters?

I've got a set that Joe gave me if you need them.

Any recommendations for a new rack ir should I use a good used standard one?

We had to change steering rack on my mini when it was standard, didnt seem that much of a ball ache? Lowered the subframe at the rear then took it out?

Used a recon one from motor factors cost £39 and had to exchange the old one

That was last year and its still good now

Never mind bloody steering racks, having just looked on Facebook it is another kind of rack I am more interested in!!!!!!

I would suggest getting whatever rack in a vice and giving everything a damn good wiggle, preferably with the gaitors off,

pasengers side up/down of the rack bar in the rack body especially, there is a kind of bush thing in there that is retained by a screw, and Ive seen them with a fair bit of play on reconned racks,
