Surcharge = regrind = dodgy.

Funny, I have used lots of regrinds over the years, never an issue. What is important with any new cam is to make sure you knock in the followers. 30 min at 2500rpm.

I've never had any bad luck with regrinds, but the last "new" one I purchased was getting close to 10 years ago - I bet that now, there are nothing like as many "suitable" core units as there were back then - but so long as their QA is up to spec, there shouldn't be any issue.

With a billett costing little more than a regrind these days, I would always use billett.

Wow - I just looked at how much cams cost now. I'm sure I remeber them being 45 quid or something like that. Like I said - it was many years ago that I last purchased one!

I think it's only us that use the term billet. They seem to use the term "blank".

Tbh wil anything that would run fine on a turbo, i do like the lumpy sounding cams which im assuming is the 286's but 266/276 would be better apparently. Lumpy idle means poor emmissions means potential MOT failure.

Mike runs a Morspeed Phase 3 I think? You aren't likely to get another. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |
