I'm told that the Haltech E6K is an ideal EMU for turbo-ing a Mini. However, what other options are there out there for engine management that will fire the injectors with every ignition pulse?

I'm worried about the cost involved with going the Haltech route. Will MegaSquirt get the job done? If so, any reputable "dealers" out there for buying one from?

Thanks for the info, guys. Emerald is MUCH more expensive than the Haltech, and once I get a MegaSquirt AND the MegaJolt done, I'd be into it for almost as much as the Haltech, and a LOT more hassle. I'll just keep looking for a decent, used E6K...

u only need EITHER a megajolt OR megasquirt, saying that the megajolt only does ignition whereas the MegaSquirt does ignition AND fueling.

So if you're using a carb is there any need for the megasquirt?

Also, is it possible to adapt an ecu out of another model car?

Mike, thanks for the clarification! I had thought that you needed one of each. MegaSquirt might be the way to go! Now, does if fire the injectors on every ignition pulse?

OK, I'll go trawl through the web sites and try to answer it for myself... *wink*

snowfruit... if your keeping the carb, go with a Megajolt, they cost about £75 ready built, but you'll need an EDIS system (EDIS brain, coilpack, leads and some sensors) you can probably grab those for around £40 off ebay or maybe cheaper from a scrappy.

Not sure if modifying an existing ECU is really worth it given the cost of the MegaJolt kit to be honest.

Jing, not sure about the injector firing as i dont use it, but i'm sure some others on here do. Sure they'll answer soon.

Had a look-see, and it is indeed capable of firing injectors with every pulse! Pretty impressive bit of work, the more I read. I think I've found my EMU.

I'm now trying to figure out where to get the tuning interface for the Palm. That would be ideal for tuning. No lugging around a heavy laptop, just plug in the Palm I always have with me. Yeah, baby...

Thanks, Mike, but I've been trying that link. I've contacted Roger about it. When I try to download, I get a 404 error (The selected File does not exist anymore

404 File Not Found: The File ./pafiledb/uploads/da615664b1379ab7099943586c43a75b.prc does not exist.). I don't see the screen shot, either! I'm hoping that there is another link I need to use, or that Roger can just mail it to me direct... The Palm would be the perfect tuning tool! I like it better than the DTEC (which uses a GameBoy as an interface, but is not a stand-alone system).

Does indeed! Thanks, again, Mike. Do you know if I can install to my Palm and play around with it, before I give that a try and potentially screw something up...?
