Hi All.

Me and a few others have been looking into other options from the usual Allspeed http://www.allspeedengineering.com/index.p...o-clutch-detail , OBP http://www.obpltd.com/obp-shop/race-car-pe...-clutch-obp2305 and minitec http://www.superfastminis.com/WILRACEPEDALKIT.htm mini specific pedal boxes.

Coming to a conclusion that this setup would be the best option (Yes its basically the minitec one with a better pedal box, but its a lot cheaper than getting a minitec one to the UK). It does not come with the mounting bracket so you will need to make one up and you will also need a brake light switch. Obviously if you are going to fit something like this, the above should be fairly easy for you to produce.

You will also need to change your brake line routing, servo, etc.

Firstly the pedal box, using a 6.25:1 ratio (the nicer looking one with adjustable pedals and billet swing arms, that are a smidge longer than the version minitec minis use).
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info....oducts_id=15586

For the clutch and front brakes 2x 0.750 master cylinder kits. These kits and cylinders are very good and come with a few options to fit reservoirs.
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info....oducts_id=14611

Finally 0.625 master for the rear brakes.
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info....oducts_id=14559

I have not double checked the cylinder sizes (Kyle has done this) but they sound about right.

The above comes to £370 + VAT at 20% = £444.

UPDATE:

Rally designs have got back to us with a group buy discount if 3 people are to buy. This is the discount....

£49.66 each plus vat for the cylinders and £140 each plus vat for the pedal assembly. Total of £288.98.

Now my maths makes that out to be £346.78 including VAT. Saving £97.22!

They will give more discount if 10 kits are purchased.

If you would like one please add to this list.

1. Kyle (TMF)
2. Jonny f (TMF)
3. Kappa (TMF)
4. Bakker110 (Turbo Minis)
5. mw3 (Turbo Minis)
6. Benjy_18 (TMF)
7. Mini93 (TMF)
8.
9.
10.

Thanks

Internal master cylinders. This setup does not come into the engine bay at all if needs be. I will be having the reservoirs located inside the car.

Also the KAD one protrudes quite far into the engine bay!

Here's the mounting bracket they have used

Shropshire.

I would be interested in the pedal box, if this happens soon, but will look to use remote reservoirs. Like this.

http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info....roducts_id=4048

edit: just seen this is the triple pedal box.. im might be using the double. Still interested in a price though.

The master cylinders above come with the bits to make the reservoirs remote. They are also a lot smaller than the one you linked and are alloy.

Its not a triple pedal box either. It just has two pedals but three cylinders so you have dual cylinders and lines coming from one brake pedal.

Rather than a single dual line cylinder. Where the pedal operates one cylinder and two lines come from that cylinder. Front and back respectively.

Or a single cylinder that has one line coming from it that then splits. Like a standard mini setup.

Hopefully that makes sense!

I'd be interested depending on the discount available and how long it takes to get sorted.

You need three master cylinders, so yes you're being a tit *wink*.
Need two of the 0.750 size.

I probably should have made it clearer. Will edit it now.

I doubt it will be 20% discount.

Hopefully it will be sorted quite quickly. I need one now for my build so I will be pushing for it to be sorted in a few weeks.

Another update on this chaps. The price has come down considerably and that's if 3 people are in. Here's the message i got today....

Hey man I got something back off them today finally and have been speaking to one guy from the company. He said if I can get 3 people on board the prices will equate to:

£49.66 each plus vat for the cylinders and £140 each plus vat for the pedal assembly

Now my maths makes that out to be £346.78 which is vat included. making a saving of £97.22 however I got back on to him and am grinding them down to see if I can get more of a discount especially if 10 people are buying. If we can drum up 10 people the price is going to drop even more. Not sure how much yet as they are muling it over but an almost £100 saving isn't a bad start :).

I am interested. Would be better yet if there was more discount and more buys. I assume it would still operate a brake fluid pressure switch on earlier cars.
Is there any info on the dims of the brackets that have been made?

You will need to check yourself to be honest, I'm not clued up on pressure switches. Mabye i can help though.... This a total dual line system unlike the standard setup, so the only thing the front and rear brakes will have in common is the pedal and bias bar from there on its split. The standard system uses one cylinder then splits. So on this setup your fluid pressure switch will be just on the front brakes i imagine?

As for the dimensions i'm not sure. As i will not need it in my car. I do not have the gap that it bridges.

It can be seen in the photos above and there is a picture in the mini-tec pdf file here...

http://www.superfastminis.com/products/Alu...Pedal%20Kit.pdf

Definitely not hard to make, it does have some slight bends in it though, you could probably space it out at one end if you don't have the facility to bend it. Furthermore if you can't get the pedals straight as this bit would be flat rather than angled you could space the pedal box to.

I'm sure you can come up with something.

Yes the pressure switch is on the front subframe and in line with the front brake lines so it would still work fine in that case.

To get the number of 10+ will you take consideration of people on all the forums you have advertised together or is there going to be 3 seperate orders: 1-TurboMinis 2-Mini16v 3-Miniforum?
