My brother runs their ultra light flywheel and alloy back plate on his MG Metro Cup car. The quality of it's outstanding and I think it's also the lightest pre-verto flywheel you can get. *happy*

Now that pre-verto one looks very tempting.

How easy is it to pull away normally with a flywheel that light?

True, but they appear to be being sold by the manufacturer not a supplier who has to add a profit margin, so that will obviously help the cost.

Yes the pre verto ultralight looks nice. Has anyone tried them?have just built a 1380 turbo with compression ratio of 8.1:1, also using a big t3 hybrid, one of these might make the engine and turbo spin up a bit quicker, not sure what it would idle like though especially with the low compression and one.of these very light flywheels??

Mike also had to get quite a bit of work done to the setup he bought from this company. I believe he sent him some constructive feedback. Not sure if it was implemented?

oneeye has one of the original MED verto's that was about 2.4 kg, thats fine on the road, so this should be ok at a bit less.

I think unless your going to look at lightening the spring assy in a serious way (which isnt really prractical) your not going to get anything too light for the road.

Yeah, but the early ones were really light, they didnt do that many of them, supposedly they could ovalize when the ring gear went on or somthing.

Ah right shame.

I have a minispares one and it's practically as heavy as a lightened cast one!

i think the first ever rts ,was around 4lbs heavier ,for the whole assembly with plate ,than a pre verto ultralight minispares setup .

There must have been some serious lightening work done on that cast flywheel then robert. *smiley*

I very much doubt Jonspeed make them. Re-sell is probably closer to the mark.

I wouldn't use the Jonspeed one. It looks shit and is more expensive.

Oh. The problem with the early MED verto flywheels is that the interference fit ring gear was interfering so much that it distorted the angle of the lugs.

Mine went back and had a lick off before having the ring gear welded on.

You wouldn't know it was in there at idle.
