I bought mine from Avonbar in 2010, and couldn't complain about the service or the price. That was 3 years ago though *oh well*

Edit, not that that matters now, I must have missed that one, ah well :(

What about going direct. Wiseco can do custom pistons to your requirements at a very reasonable price.

Personal reasons I think Jon.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

If it was me and I had a favourite brand, I.e. omega I would just search for a stockist. Iirc somerford sell omega.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Just just not keen on MED after they told there customers I was using part from that that I've never had in my engine!! that's why :)

No Holes in pistons :) just not touched the engine in a few years so thinking now could be the time to get new ones in case :) I can't seen to see any where that does the accrilte ones, was going to give them ago.

Omega bought Accralite unfortunately Matt and the prices went sky high! Last time I bought a set I got them direct from Listers.

Avonbar was the place for Accralites for mini's but now they are gone.....

also when Omega took over Accralite the price seemed to go up a lot, to the point where forged Omega's were a fair bit cheaper.

Best bet is Omegas from AVR IMO

Maybe not off the shelf. But anywhere that gets pistons made, or can make them, can make them to pretty much any spec you want.

Although not a Mini guy ( I think ), Dave Powell at Performance Unlimited has got me custom pistons before and is always very helpful.

I understand that omega/accralite will deal direct for bulk numbers, ie 5 minimum sets. might be an idea if anyone is looking at some sort of group buy?
I got my 1380 18cc accralites direct from them just over a year ago - got them for a very good price as they were the last set on the shelf

I'd definitely be interested in a group buy of +18cc Omegas.

Accralite were bought out by Omega, and Omega promptly put up the price of the Accralites so they did not compete with their own Omega brand lol.

I know my favourite engine machine shop can get hold of anything if you are not that fussed about getting things cheaper (I doubt they would be any more expensive *wink*)

Give them a call and discuss what you want with them, as John says, all you need is an Accralite stockist/ dealer.

MED are the sole agents for Omega but Swifty has license from MED so he will have access to anything MED does. I know that Swifty has just built a turbo motor

I seriously doubt it!

Are you not tempted to run the ones you have to destruction. Find the limit and then replace them? I had mine from med but that's going back several years now!

Group but may be the way forward
I spoke to omega not so long ago and they said they would make custom pistons Too if the numbers where over 20 (ie. 5 sets)
Anything less than that and was told to go to med
