Right this is the crack, I am working away over seas at the min and I have been told there is big savings to be had if I was to buy a newliPad.

Now I have a iPad 1 at the min it does most of what I want. But all the kool kids have all the new ones and they can face time there wife and all that cool stuff you can do now a days with them there opps you can up load

Just before this gets way over my head, the lads that know me will most likely back this up when I say I am No tec bloke blue teeth is still black magic in my world! Also I have fat fingers lol so I am not sure on a little one.

I don't have any vids on this one as i cant work how to? and just some very old tunes,

I just use its for the Internet, taking pics. Suit me fine as I'm too impatient to wait for a laptop to upload. Lol

I have an Ipad and if I was oing to change it would be on the following:

Retina Screen (so not the mini)
The largest amount of memoryI could afford, IMO min 32GB...

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

For what its worth until the 27th November, Tesco direct have codes to get £30 off any tablet over £300 and £20 off any over £200.

The Ipad air will be a bit quicker than the 4 as it has the A7 chip, and you may struggle to get the older models in different memories etc brand new.

In your position I'd get a 4 (with retina display) with something like 64gb memory rather than an air with 32gb but theres only about £80-100 difference in it anyway.

Thats just my opinion anyway, as the "thinner sleeker" factor of the Air is of less importance than memory, besides it would then be easier for me to break!

Our lass has got an iPad mini, I think its the ideal size, the full iPad is too big.
Also I thought the new mini has the retina screen now?

Also with you globe trotting it may be worth getting one with mobile data on it for those times you will be away from wifi. You would obv have to sort a decent roaming SIM.

John that would cost a bomb the places I go also when I am in the uk I just get the cheep sims off eBay they work well off me. So can I not just buy a iPad with out being in a contract ?

Well i couldn't tell you which one i've got but its about 18 months old now. We bought 2 for the company at the time they were just out. Mine has the 16gb and its already pretty full and there isn't much on it other than a few kids programmes for littleone in the car. I've also got the 3g as well but to be honest, i probably wouldn't be too bothered about that as you could prabably tether to a mobile if you knew what your doing.

As for the mini option, the wife had got a samsung mini tab. I know its not the same but i hate the small screen. The keyboard takes up so much space you can't really follow what your typing and the smaller 'keys' are more of a pain with my fat fingers. Don't get me wrong, its probably a great piece of kit.

Now, would i buy another ipad - i'm not too sure.

I have had my ipad for about 8 months now and it is fantastic, the only thing I will add is that if you want to use sat nav and other GPS stuff you have to get the cellular one (that takes a SIM card) my main use is for Tom Tom and I had to take it back when they sold me a wifi one, they do not like taking them back!
Just a thought.

Well I have just got the wife a iPad mini 16g with wifi 4G for £150 cheeper then the amazon price so not bad they don't have any full iPads as the new one is out soon (only two shops can sell ipads whe i am) but if they did they would be £200 saving to be had Owell

I got myself a full size 16G iPad wifi, 4G today and it was £150 cheaper than amazon, so that's us Good To Go now with this tec stuff lol. Thanks for your help so far, so when I get back and set them up what sort of apps are worth downloading stuff like watsapp so we can chat for free and that lol.
