We used to burn out grinders at the rate of around 1 every 6 months; then changed to Bosch ones around £40 (this is at least 10 years ago). Mine was stolen but Keith is still using his to this day without fault.

I've a Bosch that is a nice thing. But any of the big names will likely be decent, so Makita, Hitachi, Dewalt, etc.

For £35 I don't think you will go far wrong. And at that price even if it only does a few years its cheap enough to bin and buy another.

I dont agree they are comparable but not better, actually i would say the bosch blue cordless drills were much worse than the cheaper ryobi ones i have.

^this-10 or so years ago certain brands stood well above others, not so now, the market is so competitive its put all the big names roughly of a level playing field-im sure that some big names are just knocking shit out under licence, Ive got some old bosch stuff that's done/still doing sterling service, but had 2 professional tools of late that were total bobar On 18th Oct, 2013 apbellamy said:

Seems that so long as your grinder doesn't come with a "spare" set of brushes, it'll last for a good while. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

In my experience Bosch grinders have gone downhill lots in the last 5 years. All the ancient Bosch stuff was good which is why I bought one. I would not buy another after burning 2 out during normal use, not being an idiot. On 7th Oct, 2010 5haneJ said:

I have the makita one. Burnt the motor out within a week. It's done sterling service since the motor was replaced though. I've had bosche and other ones that haven't lasted that long. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

I swear by makita. Evrey single tool i own from grinders- impact drivers - chainsaws... Havnt had any tools fail yet. Done the odd battery in but got them swapped for new ones. But i have also had a bosch grinder for year which i inherited off the old man so either way your in fairly safe hands. On 17th Feb, 2011 apbellamy said:
