Everything I've had recently has been alright, but If I had your car Paul I certainly wouldn't be settling for anything less than perfect. If you fit them you'll only regret it and be constantly thinking about them.. BHP sells engines, but Torque wins races! |

I can make them perfect before fitting them, but itll take a lot of time, time that I could make my own I seriously doubt it! |

I'm surprised about the floor panes. Most of the panels they sell in grey primer are from M-Machine who are normally great with quality. |

This is the point Benross, they cant give me a perfect replacement because they are supplying shitty poor pressings I seriously doubt it! |

Some stuff I've got from minispares has been pants (windscreen wipers, anything chrome) but that could just be all shops as I've only ever bought from minispares They don't die, they just get faster! |

i bought some stainless steel bumpers from minispares a while back and the edges where razor sharp and they had used mild steel mig wire for the brackets because they went rusty almost straight away |

She ran the sponge down the rear wheel arch towards the back of the car and sliced her finger to the bone on the edge of the bumper. we bought the car in 1997 and she had it less than a month when this happened. I complained to Rover and they supplied two new bumpers that had a 'return' edge without quible. I bought a set of Stainless bumpers in 2005 for the white mini and they have the same return edge. What I am getting at here is that the OEM stainless bumpers are horrendously sharp and always have been to some degree or other. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:

I've always found minispares pretty good if i've had any issues in the past. I'd pick up the phone to them and 'discuss' your concerns. Unfortunately, like most businesses, they are under pressure to cut costs to satisfy a need to keep costs down and make a profit in the competitive market. Something has to give at some point in the supply chain |

I only buy from minispares because of the quality, if they are starting to go as cheap and nasty as minisport then I'll have to try and find somewhere else :/ I quite like sommerford mini as well - helps with them being 10 mins down the road from where I keep the mini On 10th Mar, 2012 theoneeyedlizard said:

Been quite pissed off with their stuff lately, head light switch brand new dead within a few months. New wiper set, rubber came off. Rotor arm, shite. Edited by dischub on 13th Apr, 2014. |

I will second Brett on the quality of rubber. I also have radius arm rubber washers/seals that I have found lying on the floor under the car as they have broken and fallen off, again with no miles on the car. I would imagine that this is likely to be the same with most of the rubber products, and not just Minispares, as other products I have from the other big suppliers is of the same poor quality rubber and seems to deteriorate within a matter of months. Apart from this I have found Minispares products to be of satisfactory quality. |

The rubber is a problem, but not just with Mini's. One of the girls at the club replaced a track rod end on her Polski 126 for an MOT test with a budget item and the boot on that failed the test the following year. I've also seen it on modern cars too where the track control arms were replaced with budget items for an MOT only for the bushes to fail the following MOT.

Back up on tje rubber. I have minispares trackrod ends 6months ago and the car has not seen the road yet... but they are all cracked up. Bought some aftermarket ones from a lokal shop... no problems yet and the rubber seems to be twice as thick while the price is half that...

Ive always bought from Minispares, Ive spent thousands with them over the years because they are very good, but the last couple of things have been shit. I realise its down to what they are supplied but I am willing to pay what it takes to get things of the right quality I seriously doubt it! |

So many of my sponges have died because of sharp bumpers! I've cut myself a few times on them :(

I always use somerford mini now, Pete has a large supply of genuine rover parts or good quality after market pieces so only supplies the best he can get.

The rubber effect (as we may call it) extends to land rover parts as well i have to be very selective about suppliers of ball joints etc to ensure i get something that will stay in one piece for more than a couple of tests. With regards to the panels - is the problem that these pressings are still being produced from the old machinery from rover/austin etc? or do they use new moulds (die's?). dont pretend to know about bodywork but if this is the case i would imagine it would all be a fairly long way out by now....
