I have a metro turbo unit so far I plan to have the cylinder head machined out to 28cc per cylinder and have the exhaust and inlet manifolds matched to the head. I have an intercooler which I will rig up a water spray onto to help keep inlet temps down. What boost do you think i will need? I was planning to run 14psi. And most important is this possible |

An upgrade to a different cam is a worthwhile modification whilst you have the engine in pieces. Many people use the Avonbar Phase 2 cam with good results, or else the standard normally aspirated MG Metro camshaft is a good alternative also.

Agreed, as we dont need to rev our engines to get the power a std bottom end in good order copes easily with 150bhp. -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |

It worth replacing your clutch plate and pressure plate to a grey one, as there's nothing worse than burying your right foot and just getting a load of clutch slipage. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

I have already taken the head off for the work and was supprised to see it had been re-cond before i brought it all pistons look standard and there is no piston slap and its all been decoked as well. Is the gearbox up for the job its a fully re-con std unit no X pin dif or anything. Yet! |

It will definatley be worth fitting a twin pin diff. I'd also be fitting SC drop gears when running the kind of boost you'll need for 150hp.

my advice is to start from the bottom up then you dot have to worry about braking stuff well especially with lower power anyway, you can always change bits for more power easier then, then stripping the engine again to uprate the bits you could of done previously. you will always want more power!!! |
