hello all

just on a serious note ive been reading a few other forums tonight and i came across a few threads where people have died in their cars, one particularly upsetting one was from a guy who's girlfriend was killed

although i will inevitably get in my car this weekend and drive like a twat at some piont it has made me think, hopefully my little word of caution will make us all think

i dont want to read about any of us - EVER

Nic was being serious. Ever had a friend seriously injured in a car accident Adam? I guess not. I have and its not nice. Luckily my friend was OK, but you hear of plenty of people who don't make it.

What good is PTO on the bottom of your car when you're dead? I am sure the fire brigade will laugh their socks off when they come to cut you out.

Save the quick driving for on the track guys. Think you're the next Jenson Button? Get out there on the track and prove it there, not on public roads.

hear hear!!

I know we all drive too fast on the road from time to time, but a bit of common sense go's a long way to survival, most of my mates consider me a bit of a lunatic (and to be fair I did used to be), due to some of the speeds i've done on the road, but in my defence I never drive fast in dodgy conditions or when its busy, overtake more than 1 car or unless I can see for ages, orgenerally push the limit....

Its fair to say that no one builds/owns a fast road car to drive it slowly on the roads. If that was the case no one would bother owning them.

Theres nothing wrong with driving fast if you want, as long as you don't drive beyond your limits and most importantly, you don't endanger anyone else but yourself.

Driving fast and Driving hard are two different things.

A friend of mine is currently behind bars due to him being the driver in a roll which killed his best friend. What started off as a bit of a blast in the middle of the night on the way home turned out wrong.

The older brother of a friend also died in a car crash a few years ago, he also rolled after clipping a kerb on a bend he took too fast. His passenger survived (his girlfriend).

The common factors in both these accidents where the unfortunate person was not wearing a seat belt and got flung from the car!

I like driving my fast-sh car and having fun, but I also want to
A ) Keep my license
B ) Keep my life
C ) Not be responsible for injuring anybody else

I wouldn't want to endanger myself in any way. What about the friends and family you leave behind?

There was a time (years back when I started driving) you could blast around the lanes and have a bit of fun, but I don't think it's safe to do it anywhere on public roads anymore. This is why I like to do trackdays.

good idea 1071, ive been wondering about how difficult it is to organise a trackday, i presume someone would have to pay the intial cost, so having to rely on others to book could be a bit concerning!!
