Im getting my mini RR on friday. I know 300bhp is out of the question (at the moment !!!), but hopfully it should push out over 200. Thats if the dizzy will allow it. Its an avonbar modded turbo dizzy, don't know if they are any good??? Anyone used one of these at high boost?

Any other things I need to check before the big day? Im asking because its my first turbo car, first car I built and the first car to have a RR tuneup.

Wish me luck! (BANG)

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

check and double check everything.

tyre pressures, cable ties to keep things neat, dashpot oil. full service if its done a fair bit of running etc etc.

A dizzy will run fine on as much power as you like. its just how the power comes in etc is how suited the dizzy is to the car.

common sense stuff.

As Iain says - the dizzy won't affect the peak power one bit.
If it's a mile off (which I doubt) then get them to write down the 'ideal' advance every 1000rpm measured straight off the TDC reference and #1 plug. It doesn't even matter how accurate the TDC reference is for this, the important thing is the change in advance every 1000rpm. With this info - you can send your dizzy off somewhere and have it optimised to suit your engine.

A few bottles of ready-mixed coolant is always a good idea - aswell as plenty of fuel. If you're running 'special' plugs like C57's, then take along at least one spare.
Set the rockers accurately, and make sure the sump plug is tight!

Sump plug tight yes Dave...

Only a muppet would leave that loose only to fall out all over the rollers!

Trick bottom end..........

Banannas you must remember...

Looks like a nice motor, similar (but not identical) to others on this forum.

No one else using a 6 speed box mind.

I assume you have an intercooler?

Jim, he already said minispeed.

That is a nice looking intercooler.

It's a cool looking car in fact, not sure how you get in with all those tubes in it.

Good luck with 200bananas, I'll predict 180 though.
