Does anyone have videos of their turbo Mini's?

YouTube is impossible to use now, there is like 1 real video to 300 Bini turbo videos.

I'm trying to decide on an exhaust setup. I had a single box maniflow DTM before, and it was nice, not too loud.

I was thinking 2" centre (or should I go 2.5"?).
Then a Y piece with 2 small silencers under the rear subframe with 2 single pipes (2") exiting (similar to Miglia).

Most of the silencers that would fit are quite small (12" long, 4" wide) and are quite "freeflow", so probably don't silence much - but probably more than a glasspack/cherry bomb.

Would this be too loud for a daily? Or would that be OK, as the turbo silences it somewhat?

With a turbo your not really going to get an exhaust note or sound anything like a n/a grunt through the typical lcb and system...

For example I have a 2" system and ive never heard a 'rasp' or 'burble' or anything... if there is its all drowned out by the turbo spool/engine/gearbox/dump valve

At most sound testing for tracks my friends all barely scrape through or have to talk nicely to the tester to get on.. where as i roll up and mostly get "is it on????"

Also.... theres TONNES of youtube videos of classic mini turbos... your just not searching right.. include the word 'classic' or put 1293 etc etc... theres loads! Theres the turbomini rolling road day, nicks clubby doing gearknob shaking before 1/4 mile runs.. haha! Loads more off here aswell as other non tm'ers...

OK thanks, will try some other search terms!

You'll have to come look at Shaunas at some point Ian, single box 1.75" maniflow, 2" i don't think is needed up to about 120ish hp, there's more powerful N/A stuff with that size on. It's got a nice little burble and was the same exhaust as it was n/a and is a little bit quieter as the turbo acts as a silencer of sorts.

Forgot to add, you can't hear the bloody exhaust note over the turbo anyway, noisy little buggers.

Because it would sound strange with one silenced pipe, and one unsilenced pipe?

Can't have a single centre box as it'll catch exiting the work car park. This isn't a stripped out racer, it's a daily driver with ridiculously heavy front seats anyway!

Im confused now? Im sure theoneeyelizard means why 2 in general.. not one on one side and just a pipe the other... the square area of the rear subframe is small anyway especially with the battery box on one side.... if 1 backbox is going to get caught on speed bumps etc then 2 are..

IMO id stick to the normal route of the minis exhaust... otherwise your going to end up looking like something from this page!!! http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums//index.php?p=vt&tid=4957

I agree, The don is the only turbo mini that to me sounds 'right'. I find driving my Na mini that the induction noise really turns heads, even trying to be quiet!

Any exterior videos of jims 16 valver? everything I've seen is in car.

Ok, basically because I want twin pipes, like the Miglias, a bit further apart than the standard DTM style twin pipe. Can't see how that is chavvy..!

When i said I can't have a single "centre" box I mean I can't have one in the centre of the car, before the Y piece, as I need all of the ground clearance possible.

As for the subframe, if you can fit a Miglia system in there, you can fit the smaller silencers in there that I am looking at...

Thanks for the video anyway, surprisingly quiet with a bike can on, so I think my setup will be OK sound wise.

Thanks Shauna would be good to hear yours.

Sound wise, my mates turbo mini (standard T3) passed the castle combe sound test with no silencer at all. So I would be cautious about over silencing if you want something sounding fruity.

Here's how mine sounds after we did the headgasket a few months ago, there's a few in car videos too if you look at the retroshow run that's with a full interior so it's how it normally sounds in car. I'll get one of it idling as well tomorrow.

Bringing this up again as im getting an exhaust bent up soon and i have a tiny 'carbon fibre' bike can... now im either going to have the pipe bent up to fit the bike can OR depending on what people advise here i may have the pipe bent up all the way through to the end with no silencer but fit the bike can around the end so it looks like i have a silencer for when it counts...

Its replacing an extremely heavy steel maniflow twin box and its extremely quiet! I know the turbo acts as a silencer on its own and ive watched roberts vid without one, mikes without and garys with bike can BUT they are all on vid so hard to imagine what its like in person, gary yours seams quiet still, mike yours sounds acceptable! Especially as it exits after the front wheel right? And robert yours sounds extremely loud but it is inside and the mic maybe struggling? Was there any power gains or losses on the rolling road? And what size pipe are you using?

Thanks in advance!
