I,m considering selling the MX5 and going for something a bit more powerful (and bigger, it is so cramped)

Always loved the honda. No experience of one but well thought of in the hillcliming comunity. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Screwing the shit out of it is the point though. My wife's Clio sport 200 is the same. It's just a mind re-set to have the thing at a higher RPM.

Best car I've ever had. Been trying to replace it for a year or so but nothing is as good. I've tried a few bm's and bought a gt86 but thats gonna get sold because its not as good. Does the Jekyll and Hyde thing better than any other car ive driven. I always thought the 240bhp wasnt enough to start with. But It depends where you drive it, if your on big roads them yea, its probly not gonna feel enough. On A-roads though it feels great, keep it in lower gear and the way it revs out is amazing. Completely different driving experience to anything else ive had. |

Yeah Gary, seen that one, but it sounds like it has problems and no one knows whether it is an easy fix. I guess not or he would do it. |

Just noticed your looking at z4 too.. The mrs had a z4m drop top for a while, very good. Thing that annoys me on bm's is first gear is always weird and short. Tho more refined, it felt much heavier than the honda, and the day to day running was costly, 21mpg day to day, 27 on a careful motorway run, whereas the honda does 30 all day long 35 on the motorway |

Yes, the BM is more civilised in a way. The M models are a little more extreme and the general view is that a 3 litre Z4 will do 30mpg quite easily. Can,t make up my mind at the moment My personal opinion would be the Z4 if I was going to live with it day to day, but is that what you want it for? If you want to whizz around point to point at pace whilst in comfort I'd choose the Z4. If you're primary focus is to drive to the track then unleash your inner hooligan then the S2000 is the one to have. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

a good fried of mine's dad has had his S2000 since new (must be at least 10 years now) and still loves it from the point of view of performance on and off the track plus easy touring in it (he has been used to much quicker and faster cars in the past).

I'd have a test drive in the various things you mention. The S2000 and Z4 are very very different things in my opinion. I think you'll soon know which is for you.

Don't know over there but the s2000 can be tuned very well to meat the bmw specs. And is much cheaper to maintain also with engine damage. Its cheaper to fix you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

Only thing I would say about the s2000 is they can rust pretty badly around the rear arches and often goes unnoticed |
