hiya all, whats ur favourite thing about minis? for me i think its the whole scene, how mini owners are friendly folk how they will all try to help, how u get the waves n the peeps from fellow mini folk, the shows, n how u allways no matter where u go there will allways be sum old guy to pop out of the wood work to tell u he had a mini when he was a lad, exellent.

I'll probably get slated for this, but I only have a mini as I started it 6 years ago, and would like to finish it. If I were to start a new project car to build tomorrow, it would not be a mini!

i think they are great as a first car to mod, as its just so cheap to do.

I'm with Wil and Tom on this. They are the lazy mans modified car for me. I have had various cars that people modify heavile and all have been totally standard when I bought them and when I sold them. The mini is just some tinkering fun.

That said I like the reaction the TT gets at events. People go Ooooow and Aaaaah.... and Why?

Also when the big American hangs out of the window of his 4x4 looks down and shouts "Hey buddy, what gas mileage do you get" I can say

i always wanted one as me first car but didnt get one. got mine about 5 years ago and i love it, but i'm with wil and tom aswell in that i wont have another one when this ones done. I doubt i'll get rid of it but i want something totally different next. leaning towards a mk1/2 escort or something japanese, it'll definately be RWD with a turbo anyway whatever i go for.

Get an S14 200SX then Bud. Rear wheel drive, turbocharged, cheap as chips and I don't have a bad word to say about them.

yup its on me wishlist...currently favouring a pulsar gti-r though, ditch the barry bonnet and fit a FMIC instead.
Also fancy a 300zx, or maybe even an R32 skyline....

i just love them, always have, always will. ive bought modern cars and i dont like them

I'm a bit of a car nazi, there's loads I would kill for, but also hundreds that I really hate. Minis are just one of those cars I love, but the regular engines really bore me. VW's are my other big passion, and again, the standard ones of those bore me too. I think I need a supercar...

Ive personally think most modern cars (I.E. ones designed mainly on computers etc) have very little definitive character.
Whereas i think lots of classic cars (pre 80's), hand designed with there angular shapes and all that bollocks, I find, look much better.

For instance a Mk1 Golf compared to todays version. Or a Capri versus an Orion....the older ones win hands down on the style/character stakes.

I like the concept, look and feel of the car.

Nothing else drives like a mini, and I've never been a big fan of rear wheel drive cars.

The compact dimensions make it great fun around town, especially when you can nip in and around bigger cars, and it's an instantly recognisable design icon.

Spares are dirt cheap, economy is good, and there is still no other car like it, and probably never will be again.

On the minus side, they rust while you look at them and the rubber sare absolute shit (sort it out Unipart!).
