to make it quick and to the point, my corsa got broken into last night and the only thing they took despite loads of cds in the door pocket and change including pound coins in the middle pot. was my radio, its a sondy cdx-m8800 (cost nearly 300 quid new) and the remote wich was hiding in amongst my cds in the door pocket.

definatelt tell the police. for two reasons, one it is possible they may come across someone with your radio, unlikely i know, but it is possible. and secondly to make sure that the crime figures are kept up. i was chatting to a copper after i had my coat stolen from the club in swanage, (only a cheap thing, just pissed off at having to walk home cold!) and he told me to report everything, as if the crime figures are kept high then they will get extra funding, and thus be able to have more poilice and hopefully be able to stop more crime......
And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

That was my idea when I got my tomtom nicked I didnt think I would get it back and I didnt, but if the figures show crime is falling they will end up with less police . |

Always inform the Police however small the crime, you will get a crime number and should the items turn up they then have a record of it.

You'll need the crime number for the insurance claim too. |

from what i have seen on the pics your car was aprime target ! easy to break into, if you have been playing ya beats loudly folk sharp know where to find the car, and that it has a nice cd system in. if stuff has been chucked about the car, ie cd cases etc then the chances are the police will get a print from it......i had this done to my xr2i. my advice to all you guys is, take all ya cd`s out, keep ya glove box empty and leave it open at night, keep ya door pockets empty and leave nothing on display DO NOT PUT FACIA`S UNDER SEATS they always look there first ! i personally wouldnt screw up my insurance for a cd player (protected or not a claim is a claim ...this protected nonsense is infact a con (from my mate who is an insurance broker) ) just chalk it down to experience dont put anything back in until it is sold. (if u r selling it)

where i am, heroin abuse is rife, and this is bread and butter crime where i am...... the car was a perfect target, high gates and a wall to shield the offender, nice and dark in the wee small hours of the morining, and no alarm the job will have been carried out in less than 30 seconds, silently....as for your radio it will be in a second hand shop right now, and the thief will have injected himself with the proceeds !
