I think this many holes in a wok is stupid! I reckon even a 17mm spanner will drop through that!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MINI-COMPETITION-CLU...1QQcmdZViewItem

Are that many holes really needed?? Lots of little ones would be more sensible i think so that things dont fall in.

leeds/wakefield.

Ah Jon, but if you tie two spanners together in a cross shape they won't fit throught the holes and the carnage will be avoided.
of course you'll have to have some side cutters handy to separate the two offending items should you need to use them .but you'll need some kind of compartment to keep them in ,oh this caould get complicated,
best delete this thread before our sanity is put into question,

lrac. there you go! ,its started already..

what i really wanted to say was ,how do you manage to drive your mini and fit under the bonnet at the same time Jon,lol.

Well now we know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall.

My wok looks just like that, just big enough for my cat to get his paws in and retrieve any errant spanners.

Imagine dropping a nut or bolt in it when working on it and not noticing... can imagine it being nasty, if you was really worried you could always put mesh on it to cover the holes.

My wok looks like that :(

A lot of heat is built up inside the clutch housing if slipping the clutch on the startline...

If you have no holes - it's not going anywhere.

That is a stupid idea. Why cut holes out and lose all that weight and then paint it, red of all the slow colours, and add weight back on. Some people, Eh.

I reckon if you dropped a 17mm spanner through the holes it would bloody serve you right anyway, as you shouldn't be using metric spanners on a mini, you should be using imperial ones!

the trick is to put holes in the bottom half too so the spanner finds its way out, LOL

Seriously though the main problem I have had is dropping spanners down the back of the engine and having them get stuck between the subframe and the body, I've lost at least 3 1/2" spanners like this, the last time I dropped one I looked underneath the car and it wasn't there, so I was looking for the bugger for about half an hour down by the diff and in all the nooks down there, coud I find it? could I arse!

sure enough it found its way back out at the speed bumps at the end of my road.
