I know a few of you have had dealings with him, so has anyone got this blokes number?

I won this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWN:IT

Bargain IMO, but its not come with the brass T piece, and hes not too good at answering emails. Also want to see if he can sort me out with some other braided bits.

Cheers guys

Not much help, but according to ebay he's based in gloscestershire, and despite being one of the longest standing members of the glos mini owners club, I've yet to meet anyone who knows who he is, I will carry on trying to find out who he is.

I have had some dealings with him, he sent me a bolt to see if it fitted my T2, it didn't, I told him but he didn't reply.
His address is:
69 Gannicox Road
Stroud
Gloucestershire
GL5 4HA.

I also bought a clutch hose off him and with it was a business card with his mobile no. on. Can't find that at the mo though.

Cheers guys, Ive actually been trying to track him down for over a year LOL, only over some bespoke brake lines mind, but still, he must be missing out on business not taking phones orders (presumably why he doesnt advertise his number)....

I reckon over the last year ive emailed him about 5 times and never got a reply...never spoke to him over the auction either, just sent the paypal payment and the bits turned up soon after...

If you find that business card with his no. Id be very grateful :)

Ive found that using the "contact member" option on ebay
is more reliable than using the persons paypal e mail address.
Try that as when he logs in to attend to sales he should notice your message.

Yep, Im not slating his stuff, its looks great quality, and at half the price of avonbar/minispares etc im not gonna argue!!

Hes also sent me one banjo bolt too many, so i think when hes been packing it up, hes put one of those in by mistake (theres probably someone out there with 2 T pieces and no banjo bolts LOL).

Im sure he'll rectify the mistake, but its just getting in contact with him that's a bit of a mission!

Ive tried through ebay, but still nothing yet.

I have nothing but good things to say about his stuff. Top service.

I don't think that is a good way of judging a mini person, no one down here in cornwall knows me in the mini scene socially, (though they can't fail to notice the car....) as I choose not to belong to any clubs etc, just don't have the time/inclination/interest in clubs. Doesn't mean you're not a dependable mini person :)

Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm slatting the guy, I've heard a lot of good thinks about him, I'm just surprised that he's only a few miles from me and I havn't bumped into him somewhere.

Sorry, but this guy is terrible at communication.

Ive sent 3 messages to him over the last week and still no responce.

Im not going to give negative feedback as its obviously a genuine mistake, but for gods sake i wish he'd just get in touch!!

Did anyone have any luck finding his phone number?

Cheers

Well....went to fit the kit last night, and neither of the banjo bolts thread (the each had different thread strangely, seen as one was supplied by accident?) fit the boss in the turbo, and when inspected are definatley different to the banjo the came out of the turbo.

One of the goes in a few turns ok, but if forced in further would definately ruin the thred.

Tried his number a few times, no answer so left a voice mail.

Just emailed him, so lets see how long it takes this time for a responce....

yeah, my packet said "metro brake lines"...???

If I were you id deffo double check the threads, as the M10*1 does go in 3 or 4 turns, but then seize as they its deffinately wrong.

After spending much of the day trying to find out what he has included in his kit (the T3 Oil supply inlet is 1/8 NPT 27tpi btw) ....

1 x M10*1 Brass T-piece
1 x M10*1 s/s Banjo
1 x ?????? s/s Banjo
1 x double ended s/s banjo, 1 end same ??? thread as above, the other, smaller end 1/8 BSP
6 x copper washers
1 x Braided oil hose

The thread which I havent been able to identify yet baffled CAS (Compressed Air Services), Industrial Equipment, and Steve (the local farmer who knows EVERYTHING about hydrualic fittings). Its not NPT or BSP for certain.

Suffice to say, none of the fittings were the 1/8 NPT 27 tpi which is needed for the T3 supply.

Ill post a pic up of the kit in a bit, its a shame as all the bits are top quality, but just not the right spec.

Also, been ringing his phone throughout the day and it goes straight through to voicemail everytime, and he hasnt responded to my email yet.

After sending him a msg through his ebay account, Guy finally rang me yesterday.

Hes a very polite and nice bloke as it happens, but business is business and after a few Q's I established:

1) he doesnt send the kits out.
2) he doesnt even handle the kits.
3) the kits are supplied by the same people that supply the avonbar kit.
4) he has never fitted a kit.
5 he doesnt know what any of the threads on a mini or metro are.

He said he acted upon my emails from earlier in the week and had sent out a selection of banjo's for me to try, I asked if any were the 1/8 NPT 27tpi thats needed and his respince was 'no'.

He said he was going to get in touch with the distributor asap to resolve the matter and get back to me later that day (this phone call was in the middle of me loading all those panels into my car in the wind and the rain).

But he never did.

At least I now have his active mobile phone number, which if you want it Ill PM you.

looks like i will be placing an order with avonbar then as the bloke hasnt replied to any emails i have sent, not too good.

Can you buy just the fittings from avonbar Joeybaby83 or did you have to buy the complete kit?

They sent me out the turbo banjo on its own, but understandable wouldnt send out the block end banjo separately as i believe they are supplied from manufacture with the kit.

Going back to an earlier post I made quoting what Guy from minipart claimed about his kits being made by the same people as Avonbar, I believe this is false, as the banjos are obviously of different origin of manufacture and the swaged braided hose is a slightly different length (shorter).
