Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

JohnK and SC aren't far of a retail turbo manifold ....... fairly sure it will be with us for 2008 .... could be wrong.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

its going a bit slow at the moment, the car is all wrapped up as im waiting for my shed/workshop to be delivered.

last night i attached a bumper lip to my carbon front end and messed about with that a bit.

and i have also bought a set off coilover mounts so i can finish off the inner wings. and also a slickshift aswell because i want to start my internal gear linkage.

this is now definately going to be a turbo, i have sold my cast omegas and am saving for some forged accralite ones and i bought an intercooler aswell!

It's a shame that my box gave up last week. I could have taken you out for a spin in mine. It's far detached from some of the 'quick' turbo'ed minis on here, but it's still got a fair bit of poke!

the project is looking great by the way!

In the 13's at last!.. Just

lol i cant remember off the top of my head but its about the same length as the bonnet.

plan is to have the metro front mount rad behind the grill, plenum tucked just behind that and the the IC at an angle behind the bonnet and then sort of nostrils cut into the bonnet.

i will be ablee to find out next week when i chuck the engine in and start mocking up! lol.

here are a few pictures of the cage going in.

im glad a got my tube notcher bit its still quite difficult to get the angle right!

and the bash brace ended up a bit higher than i would have had it as the tube didnt have much length to play with, but it worked out ok at it puts my steering wheel at a good angle!

loving it. just a quick question, are those coilover mounts the mini spares ones? you might have trouble with them if you want to go low, as they hit the subframe. as i found out. i made my own bottom mount to move them away. i can get you some pictures if your intressted?

cheers for the comments much appreciated as usual.

yes rob they are one off, there steel tube with a threaded insert welded in each end and the weld turned off then a set of left and right handed rose joints in each.

ive still got to make some brackets but im not quite sure where im putting them yet.

Cool, I may have to copy you're design if that's aright (I hope Turbo Minis isn't like F1 where you get fined £200 Million for copying) since my brace bars foul on the coilover brackets.
