Looks like a nice finish!

Should look very tasty indeed!

You may have already answered this, but are you making any engine changes this year?

cheers for the more enthusiasm boosting comments

no engine changes this year, i need to rebuild the turbo as thats got a bit wobbly, and sort out my low compression caused by one valve, hopefully ill get that done before avon-finances allowing

compressor wise, you want one that has a higher cfm than the spray gun your using. Also consider the cfm of a air fed mask if your usingh one
My friend used a small compressor like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-25-litre-Tank-Ai...1QQcmdZViewItem and did a great job of his kit car

i bought a beast of one so i could power some air tools, but before that i had an antique thing that i painted a landrover roof with, that was soooo bad that you had to keep stop painting to allow the pressure to build back up

really you need something that will produce enough air to fill up the tank as you go

bits and pieces of progress over the weekend, ive been cleaning up the subframe, and having a much needed tidy up of the loom-it was a complete mess before

annoyingly im doing my clio brake pads as they went this morning

and even more annoyingly it appears i may not have much work over the next few weeks!!leaving me a bit short of cash-though i have a plan to raise some funds, though it may mean that the mini progress may slow down

hmm i some how missed that question matty

anyway there has been progress dispite my lack of updates:

The car is taking shape, ive tidyied up the wiring loom as that was in a bit of a state before (although its taken me ages to order the couple of connectors i need), all the back end is on, popped in the windows etc etc

I was thinking to myself i could get it finished by next fri-then realised i need to give the paint time to go off properly so yesterday i prepped up the doors and bootlid, and then painted them today

As you can see the lightening has gone a bit too far and they now float-ill have to bolt them down well

im going to try and get the front primered up tomorrow and painted on fri

and over the weekend, in between eating eggs, i will rebuild the turbo (then the engine can go in), run the brake and fuel lines, then im just waiting on a few goodies to arrive

Top job mate.

Yeah, best to let the paint rest for a couple of weeks before any agressive buffing.

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I ordered the fuel tank today (hopefully the student loan will come through before hand so i can pay for it! Im waiting on a master cylinder, i need to sort out the wiper motor, and fit in a few relays, then i can get the dash back in, doors on, and drop the engine in at some point

A coffee with 2 LARGE sugars later saw me having success with simple jobs, but jobs that make a dramatic difference

Cheers chaps

That 205 is the burden of my life!!! Its caused me nothing but problems since the second day i had it when i got over taken by a maestro, i blew the engine in it a couple of years ago and its been sat on the patio since, i popped toms old 1.6 in it, went up the road and it has a random fueling problem, I HATE THE THING

The brace bars will be back on dont worry (though they werent on there when it first appeared in turbo mode, but anyway....)

Ive been messing around with the wiring today fitting things correctly (i.e relays) I then tried my simplified loom and nothing worked.....

.....however when i connected the battery things werent much better, however this was because i had cocked up the wiring to the indicator and wiper stalks (thats what wiring at night in freezing conditions does for you....) Swapped all the wires around and all is good. Moved the fuse box to behind the dash (out of the way of a leak), and a few other fiddly bits, not as much as i was hoping, but a much better day than yesterday

unfortunately my neighbours dog loves playing football, and whenever it could hear me in the garage it would come over to play, and then keep knocking the ball into the car when you tried to stop.
On sunday i lost my temper with him big style, luckily he was too quick for my boot, but i cut his ball in half with some scissors. I feel so guilty now, poor boy-but he can wait until the top coat is on before i buy him another

I have just been reading old posts on this topic, this one really made me laugh!!!!!!!!!!

it didnt make me laugh at the time

he got another ball-one of those super light plastic floaty types. With this he was mastering bouncing and holding it on his nose, unfortunately there were also wheel arches flying everywhere whilst he did it
