Any news on the tank and subframe this week?

next week hopefully. ill just have to get on with some fiddely little job in the meantime.

thats the abs pump and fuel tank frame sorted so this subframe is almost ready to be blasted and painted just need to drill some holes and swage them. still waiting to get the rear subframe back and i can put the engine/subframe assy back in. it looks like its about £200 quid for a polly bush kit for the back but it needs to be dun.

Its a fantastic build and I cant wait to see it once complete. Its projects like this that really make me want to learn more about fabrication and how to engineer something like this.

Its one thing chucking a load of parts at a car but its another thing bringing them all together in a way that works and works well. You see so many projects where people think its easy and just dont quite understand what goes in to them. Just look at the engine swap sections on TMF and its is full of them.

thanks dan, im still waiting for the subframes and suspension arms to return from being powder coated. ive got a polly bush kit waiting to go on. just put the loom in and realised how much i can chop out of it, not too sure how to go about that yet tho??? so the tank and subframes should be on the car next wknd. im just messing about with fibreglass doors today, trina decide how to hang them.

yes i understand that i still dont no how its going to work/ handle however many convosations you have with people.

im looking for a rover 620 ti gearbox with lsd aswell so i can use the internals to lower the final drive.

My Rover BRM had a close ratio box with LSD might be worth looking at them, if you can find one!

Are you sure that they have an lsd in as std?

so i people have told me. you can tell easaly if the gearbox is out. apparentaly the 620 has the lowest final drive. but i havent done a great deal of reserch yet.

Love it!

I could be shot down for this... but I don't think it would look half as good with anything smaller. Im not usually a of big wheels on minis, but because its soo lary it fits.

the roof is shiney its the dodgy camra man. i was planning to run 14s but for now i have set it up to sute 15s because theirs a limited selection of tyers on 14s.i think i will run 14s with slicks. i also decided i am not willing to compramise peformance for style when it comes down to breraks so the smallest wheels i can go to is 14.

because of the lack of luxarys hike a heater inside i have got myself a heated screen, hopefully i can get it in there in ok. i just wish their was more time in a day so i can get this finished!

i have to be honest, i thought this was going to be a bag of the brown stuff.
i really like it now though, i must say.
