lol I've just been googling that Tom,

parafin looks like a good bet, maybe with some jizer or gunk added.

Would Petrol do they job?? I have about 20l of unleaded that is too old to be used in a car and I doubt my mower will get through that in a hurry

I opened up my washer yesterday after picking it up and thought do I really want 5 gallons of flammable liquid and the vapour from it in my small garage?
I put it back in the box. I do lots of welding and grinding which takes priority.
BE CAREFUL FELLAS

I seriously doubt it!

There are some VERY good water based degreasers available now, the stuff I'm using at the moment is actually cheaper than paraffin.

And never use petrol (or even any solvent that is quite volatile) as you can create an explosive atmosphere without realising it and just switching a light on could set it off.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Jizer and Gunk are no good if like me you intend to use a heater. You need a water based degreaser thus eliminating the explosive atmosphere problem

Water based degreaser is the only stuff to use guys.... Sparks from grinders, welders, etc are not good. Also, petrol fumes are heavier than air so will fall, and sit on your garage / workshop floor.

DO NOT EVER USE PETROL OR PARAFIN IN THESE. A SIMPLE RULE!

I phoned up at about 9.10 in the morning and i got transfered to a guy who actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I gave him my list of parts and said he would ring me back in 10, and actually did! i am guessing he actually went to look instead of tapping away and saying no, of an incorrect stock card.
