Im very interested cheers ill have a think. not sure if the head would be any good as the ports arent accurately model and there are no water ways. The manifold could be interesting though.

Rick practice makes perfect ive always found, got into CAD at uni about 8 years ago and have been fortunate enough to do it for work.
Ive modeled the tubes based on what the supplier stocked, would be easier to do a swept profile, but wanted to create a model as close to the end product as possible. When mating the parts look at using the topology feature makes life easier

im having touble protruding my sketch.

when goingto protrude i select, from sketch, then chain, once ive selected all the ouer and and the 2 circles and try to proceed it says "disconnected profile, each profile must be endpoint connected, non construction geometry" but the sketch is complete and is connected all the way round ive zoomed in doublechecked etc to no avail, got any ideas of what ive done wrong?

The larger circles around the bolt holes which your using to create the fillet on the outline needs to be trimmed. Basically the program sees one large closed sketch (the outline), but each of the larger circles are also a closed sketch.
use the trim function and remove the excess just leaving the outline and the smaller holes, then it should extrude fine

no you don't need to remove them as the program does not recognize them as solid line.

Erm v20 what are you on mate. Seems a good program it's hard at first but when you start to get it it's quite user friendly.

V20 is probably the best to start on, after V20 they interface all changed to the new windows format and all the features are in odd places took ages to get use to it. Im using ST2 which is the latest version. very similar to V20 but few nice additions. Im using Solidworks 2010 at home, some much better for tube work

I don't think I'll be needing the mega advanced features anyway, once I get going there's a few things I can do for my car, should had started ready with a turbo flange or something but jumped in the deep end and went straight for it, hopefully itl come together nice tho.

I may do in the future, at the moment I'm just going to play around and do this speedo housing, then a waterpump plate, then might design some brackets and stuff like alternator bracket and maybe a billet version of my bracket to hold the rosejoints to hold the turbo. Cheers for the offer tho. :)

figured out the scetching and boreing holes, chamfering and rounding etc, base is done, now got to build the body etc and then do all the necesary holes and an extra one for a turbo oil drain.

:)
