Dropped tank out just now.. I had to as the fuel gauge wasn't working and eliminated all but the sender... was totally fooked and actually stuck solid in the down position. Another job for me...

Inside the tank there does seem to be some cavitation but the pick up filter all looks fairly clean with no obstructions..

Is the drain nice and large/clear of obstructions?

We couldn’t get the fuel pressure below 4.5-5psi. This may be because the return isn’t flowing enough fuel.

Well this is what the return looks like..

Seems clear.. It's around 5-6mm. Looks like the pipe goes in upwards towards the top of the tank but don't know how far towards the top it goes? Cant really tell what they've used before to bond it in.. looks like JB weld or something.. its not been welded.

Do you think I should look at getting a larger diameter pipe in there to match the rest of the system?

If the return is big enough you should be able to adjust the fuel pressure down to virtually nothing.

Absolutely... just wondering should I maybe change that return pipe for something larger to match the rest of the pipework?
Then I would know for sure that the pipe would be venting to the top of the tank.

I’d want it larger than that. Especially as we can’t get the fuel pressure down.
8mm would be better.

Yeah... whilst it's off I may as well do it. Then I also have the issue of the original pick up pipe, the union that screws in to the side. It's about 5-6mm also.. that would be a real pain to change I'd imagine.. I'm pretty sure that's not my problem however...

It's a vented cap yes...

Finally.. sorted.

So brakes were seizing on, raised the master cylinder by 2 washers... problem solved.

Also sorted the running issue.. had a silicone hose connected from tee-piece on compressor housing (the other end going to the waste gate) to the carb. This was set up on the rolling road as was running fine after so not sure why it started playing up..? Anyway, kinked that pipe and tie-wrapped it kinked.. hey presto!! Went like a rocket!! Maybe a leak in the hose somewhere?

A big thanks to Gary (theoneeyedlizzard) who I annoyed with WhatsApp videos of me driving it with the phone taped to my leg filming bits lol. Thanks!!
