well guys i met up with the owner again yesterday and i have got a list of the specs for you..........

+.20 overbore
Omega pistons
7.3:1 compression ratio
custom head with 31 / 35 valves
delorto 45mm carb
special ground cam 286 / 295 duration

21 PSI !!!
highlift rockers
MSD Digital 6+ ignition with boost retard and launch control
metro dizzy

HUGE 13" drag slicks

The car is putting down 245hp

it is a MK1 body with the only modification to the shell being cutting away the front arches to accomodate the huge slicks...

there is also a custom built rear beam axle bolted on......

weight is said to be around 1600 lbs

this car is always in the 12 sec. class at the races and his best time to date has been 11.4 :cool:

while at his garage yesterday he showed me a mini world magazine article which featured him some long time ago...

at the time they where doing a feature on a conversion he did which involved mating a ford engine to the mini gearbox. !!!!!

this car at the time was putting down some mad power and was soon outlawed at our local circuit....

for him to continue running the car he would have weigh down the car with and extra 1000lbs!!!

Peter Baldwin was also present at the interview..........

this guys as done it all to minis.. he even has a spaceframe sitting in his shop!!!

while there i noticed this very immaculate yellow clubman sitting in a corner looking as unassuming as it could be.....

what a susprise when he opened the bonnet

this car has a toyota 4AGE engine mated to the mini gearbox and flywheel housing running two 45mm webbers

the car is so simple and unassuming and the install so clean....... there was no cutting of the body any where as using back the mini gearbox meant he would still use the original mini mounts

i can just imagine what this car will do on the road..........

Timeslips!!! Must see timeslips!!!! WTF kinda speed must that thing be doing over the eighth and the quarter!!!

Finally - I hope you don't mean putting down that power as in that's 'at the wheels' and flywheel is even more????

i'll try to get a copy of his timeslips for you guys
and if he has a copy of his dyno run i'll try to get it....

There is a chopped Austrailian Mini that runs 12.647 with a T25 Escort Cosworth Turbo. Suck through 1 7/8" Su carb and water injection. No intercooler. Just thought I'd add this as I just saw it :)

nice motor, but the 'Adult Toys' on the door had me n stitches!

Bloody fast time !! I have no doubts an A series is capable of making the power, but how the hell does the gearbox and shaft withstand those slicks and the launch ?

Not forgetting the clutch too ??

thers nobody would like to see a printed time slip more than me ,lol., i would guess the terminal is relatively poor with all the tyre drag, no pun intended,,
stevie ,there wrinkle walls ,so i'd say the shafts cope quite okay,

No one has commented on the intercooler set up, looks as if it is a chargcooler set up in the passenger footwell, probably just very cold water around the cooler for drag use....An idea i had years ago.

TBH it fiction without a timing slip!
