64 ancient matey hahahahaha but it is as it should be all legit ! except that nasty sunroof the last owner hacked into the shell ! the "VRO" number is also used on kit cars and cars which have been re shelled ligitimately rather than buying plates off ebay or unscrupulous mini dealers so panic is over, they are happy so i am happy.

i have no block or tackle and i am weak as piss so cant lift it in at present.. so i cant answer that one. I have lost interest in it at the moment so it will just sit there for a bit longer until i can afford lifting gear. I want to go to avon this year, but never intended the car going up the strip in any event. Been sailing alot recently as it does not cost me anything ! plus when i have spent so long on the engine itself I stress that is will go bang straight away i want to enjoy its prettyness for a bit longer

I appreciate that, but i have been told braided = very bad, the pipe collapses with heat and bang goes the turbo, i prefer the solid type as i know it wont kink / collapse

Certainly both the turbo minis currently in my garage have a braided oil feed pipe. I've certainly never heard this "collapse with heat" fable.

Mark killed three turbos off with braided hose which had collapsed he was the one who told me to go with solid pipe., Neil has changed his back to solid pipe, and unless iam wrong i think even Steve is running / changing to solid type pipe ? perhaps its an issue of how it is directed to the front of the block I dunno just going off what i was told bearing in mind a turbo costs circa 300 quid so i cant afford one to go bang.

didnt realise the pipe had to reach the oil capiliary doodad (the smaller hole which feeds the oil preasure gauge)

yes you need filterd oil richi from the main gallery to the turbo the other large hole goes to the top of the filter like the normal pipe

Am I right in thinking that the old solid BL pipes supplied the turbo with unfiltered oil? In which case the braided hose may be a better option. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

dunno i have ordered the right one havnt i ? the braided pipe also appears to come from the smaller hole which feeds the gauges.

well it came today and it is now fitted, however due to the fittings on the oil presure braided line are different, i will have to get a new one, but for the purposes of rolling road i mihgt just pop a gauge onto the T peice until i get sortid.
