Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

fook me, thats a laot of swarf went into the engine *smiley*

oh well, no real harm done as it was only a mule and not a thoroughbred!

yes exactly ian , that ws the cheap way to find that mistake ,paul ,imagine if youd built a stonking turbo engine and it locked up and took out the turbo too!!

Yes I'm a twit.

All because I was in a hurry to prove the code. I cleaned it up with the air line as best I could but the cutting fluid was holding it back I suppose.

Loads more came out after the above photo was taken after I sloshed a load of detergent around inside.

Just hooked up the Megasquirt on the ignition and it fired up straight away. So earlier doubts about any ECU related probelms can be discounted.

Manifold is now ready to fit, so I should have it running on the Siamesed code in the morning.

Got MED to split the pistons and rods this afternoon. Rods are fine. This is the state of the gudgeon pins.



It looks like water damage/corossion, but they have ben kept in the dry since we took the engine apart. So I'm assuming this happened some time ago.

When I first built the engine the pistons/rods seemed fine.
